Thirty one:

Melanie POV

"She is what?" Dorothy exclaimed, turning quickly to face me. Nodded grimly I began to pick at my nails; another one of my annoying habits.

"Yeah good ol mummy wanted to make an appearance" I scoffed, my tone coxed with disdain. Henry frowned, grabbing my hand and entwining out fingers- instantly calming me. "Leanne won't be able to hurt you anymore"

Swatting his hand away I frowned back "I'm not deluded. I won't let her walk over me"

Dorothy sighed, rubbing her temples "why would she even want to come here- she has never been interested coming to Scotland"

Henry stiffened in his seat, his knee bouncing up and down with anxiety. "She saw that photo of you and Tom, she isn't happy"

My ears perked, the photo which Henry mentioned? Did he mean that it was viral? My heart instantly dropped and my face faltered "that photo... everyone can see it?"

"That's another reason why I'm here" Henry replied lowly, his demeanour cold. "Seeing Tom that close to you- it made me so angry"

Pursing my lips together I sighed, toying with a strand of my hair. "You know Tom means nothing Hen" Henry nodded, forcing a tight smile due to the anger residing in him.

A sleek white Audi pulled up outside the house, the car looking too expensive to be situated somewhere like this. It only meant one thing, it was Leanne. The tyres skidded against the muddied grass creating flicks to sparsely paint the car. Instantly my heart began to pound in my chest, not wanting to face her after everything.

Leanne got out of the car, scrunching her nose in disgust as her heels sunk into the ground below. Snapping my head towards Henry I felt myself on the verge of a panic attack. My breathing fastened and all noise was blanketed from my ears- coxing me in a deafening silence. Why did she have to be here?

Henry looked at me with concern, leaping from the sofa and kneeling infront of me, those eyes of his trying to melt down the panic ridden cloud flooding my brain; though it wasn't working and I felt the colour wash from my cheeks. "H-Henry"

Henry grabbed the sides of my arms, his grip firm. "You've got this Melanie" Feeling the tears pile my eyes only made my heart hammer against my ribs even more. I couldn't deal with this.

"Well well well, this is where you have been hiding hm?" Leanne commented coldly, perching her thick, black rimmed glasses on top of her head. "Hiding? Never" I growled, feeling the anger tense my entire body. Henry lowered his grip, now sitting next to me again.

"What is the meaning of this daughter?" Dorothy said coyly, trying her best to not be intimidated. Flicking her bronzed locks from her face Leanne walked towards me, motioning for me to stand. "I wanted to see Melanie of course"

Clicking my tongue in my mouth I began to find the inner strength burning within me; only creating a tension bubble between us as she could feel my rage. "Why are you so angry ?"

"Why am I angry?" I mocked, shaking my head in complete shock. "I'm angry because you've lied to me my entire fucking life"
Henry tensed beside me, his body heat increasing as he also began to get annoyed by Leanne's presence; I had a feeling he wouldn't be a gentleman for once.
