Minhyuk checked the vial of Ceftriaxone and then filled up his injection. "To the side, please" he smiled sheepishly and the old lady shook her wrist at him, begrudgingly turning to her side and closing her eyes. He shifted her gown up her hip and quickly administered the antibiotic. Gonorrhoea. At 73 years of age. Minhyuk swiftly pulled back, rubbing cotton onto her skin as she grunted and slowly shifted back into place. Now comes the hard part. He reached inside a cardboard box, pulling out 4 prophylactics. It was hospital rules but he has rarely found occasion to exercise it.

"Please take this Ms Park," he said awkwardly and Ms Park took the wrappers from his hand, staring at them "What is this?" she squinted at the packets and Minhyuk's face turned entirely red "They're... for your safety, Ms Park" he explained loosely and she peered at him "Like a medicine?" she asked and Minhyuk shook his head "Like... precaution... for your body" he gulped and she tried again "Like a... gun?" Minhyuk widened his eyes and then quickly shook his head "No!... it's for whenever you... go out with... a gentleman... or lady... friend... um fuck"

He covered his mouth and Ms Park looked all the more frazzled "You think going out will make me sick?" she rephrased and Minhyuk considered it "Something like that... just... be careful whenever you're with... someone" he tried to indicate with his eyes and hands as much as he could but the concept seemed entirely alien to her. Ms Park gulped, looking visibly hurt and Minhyuk frowned. Dr Doh wasn't wrong but usually, he approached his patients much more gently. He knew, of all people, that most patients were not as malicious or masochistic as they were naive and misinformed. "Not just gonorrhoea, you can get chlamydia, genital herpes, hepatitis B, syphilis, trichomoniasis, HPV, HIV the list goes on" he snapped his clipboard. "So to prevent all that, you have to use these" he impatiently tore open a condom wrapper.

Minhyuk's eyes widened as he stared at Dr Doh while Ms Park shrunk more and more into herself. He pulled the rolled condom out, handling it with learnt dexterity "This is an external condom" he used his gloved, index finger to stretch it open "It's a synthetic sheath-like barrier which goes over a penis during intercourse to prevent direct skin contact and unwanted transmission of fluids and pathogen. If your partner has a vagina, use internal condoms that go inside the vagina. Dental dams for oral sex but the hospital doesn't give those so you should get those on your own" he said brusquely.
