Optimus found himself in the middle of Crystal City. The skyscrapers glinted in the sunlight, reflecting the images of the Cybertronians that passed them. There appeared to be a dense fog over the whole city, making it almost impossible to see more than two feet in front of him. However, no one else seemed to notice this bizarre occurrence.
"Orion?" A voice asked.
It was a familiar voice. It was deep and gruff, sending chills down his backstrut. Despite feeling unnerved, he – Orion – clearly didn't feel the same. He turned towards the figure.
"I didn't know you were here, too!" Orion said happily.
Heavy pedesteps approached Optimus, shaking the ground like how his Spark shook his chestplates. He could barely see black pedes poke out from the fog.
The Cybertronian chuckled. "I'm here on special business with Alpha Trion. What're you doing in Crystal City?"
"Just visiting a friend." Orion answered.
"Is it the Cyberwolf again?" The Cybertronian asked.
Orion nodded.
"How's things going with them?" The other asked.
"He was doing fine, last time I was here." Orion said.
"That's good." The Cybertronian responded.
The two were silent for a moment.
"I must leave. Alpha Trion is expecting me at the stadium in a few astro-cycles." They said.
"Oh, okay." Orion said, "See you later!"
The pedes disappeared into the fog, the heavy pede-falls following. They continued away, fading into the distance. Orion turned from the street, padding down the sidewalk. His vision faded from the city.
Optimus' optics came online as he came out of his recharge. The pain had passed, but his thoughts (and memories, apparently) were still foggy. He groaned, slowly sitting up. He looked around the cell for Jetfire, finding the flier standing by the cell barrier, back against the wall with his wings pointed downwards. His friend looked down at the red and blue Autobot, giving a faint smile to him.
"Did anything happen?" Optimus asked, resting a servo on his helm.
"No." The Seeker said, "Are you feeling better?"
"Yeah." The shorter Autobot said.
The two were silent for a while. Optimus looked out of the cell into the one across from them. He saw Bumblebee curled up in one corner of the cell, optics shuddered as if he was recharging. In the cell next to his, Whiteshade didn't appear to be in it this time.
"Where's Whiteshade?" He asked, looking up at Jetfire.
"He was taken to Megatron for 'negotiations.'" The Autobot Seeker said.
Optimus' Spark sank upon hearing that. "I hope he's okay." He thought aloud.
Jetfire nodded. They fell quiet again, the flier watching outside the cell again. It was another few moments until either of them spoke again.
"I overheard a few Decepticons talking about Shockwave's finds." The Seeker said.
"'Finds'?" Optimus questioned.
"The location of Vector Sigma." Jetfire said.
The red and blue Autobot tensed, optics widening. The flier looked back at him, faceplates containing a questioning look, but the shorter Cybertronian refused to look into his optics.
