Optimus awoke later than usual. His recharge was filled with nothing but painful memories and a personal, scorching hatred for the Decepticons. He sat up, groaning groggily, and looked around. The cabin was empty, not even Sideswipe was inside. He could hear other Autobots walking past the room as well.

The red and blue bot stood and padded out of the room. As soon as he stepped out, he saw that many Autobots gave side-glances to him, and the morale generally seemed down. He quickly walked past everyone, going to the elevator and up to the training floor. He was never the type to punch his anger out, but he would make an exception for today.

Once he reached the floor, he looked inside the closest training room. It was a room with blasters stuck on the lowest level of power and energy weapons that were only good to stun enemies. There was also a console near the training mat. Optimus became curious and padded towards the mat. He looked back for a moment, hearing someone else in one of the training rooms. They were yelling and throwing insult after insult, barking following. He guessed that it was Arrow.

Optimus walked up to the console, powering it on. Dust covered the controls, showing that it hadn't been used for quite some time. Once the screen lit up, he could see that this room was to train against a hologram. The red and blue bot hummed, curious.

He walked back and grabbed one of the blasters, then padded onto the mat. There was a scanning sound, and then a beep. Then, nothing.

Optimus hummed. "Begin?" He spoke hesitantly.

The hologram of a Decepticon drone appeared before him. It had thick armor and was of average build, holding a blaster in one servo and scowling at the Autobot. It ran at him, and Optimus dodged out of its way easily. The Decepticon skid to a stop and turned, screeching in pain when Optimus shot it in the helm. The hologram disappeared, and there was a trill from the console.

Easy. Optimus thought.

Another Decepticon hologram appeared. It had thinner armor than the last and was skinner. It lifted its servo, a staff materializing in its servo, electricity crackling. An electrical staff. Those were powerful, and hard to come by for the Autobots. However, it was only a hologram, meaning as soon as the staff touched Optimus, the fight would be over, instead of being electrocuted until he passed out.

The Decepticon hologram spun the staff in its servo threateningly, slowly circling the Autobot. Optimus kept his blaster clutched close to his body. He held his weapon out and fired. The hologram dodged the shot easily, then ran at the red and blue bot. It jumped up with its staff above its helm. Optimus dashed to the side, the staff hitting the ground and sending a wave of electricity across the mat. It quickly stood again and ran at Optimus. The Autobot blocked the attack with his blaster, but the Decepticon took the opportunity to roundhouse-kick him in the side.

The red and blue bot fell to the ground with a groan. He looked up, seeing the hologram spinning its staff in its servo again. It lifted the staff up, intending to plunge it into his helm. Optimus rolled out of the way, the staff hitting the empty mat again. The hologram turned again, but the red and blue bot shot its helm. The hologram disappeared again, weapon going with it. The console trilled again.

Optimus panted, holding the side that was kicked. He looked down, seeing that it was the same side that he was injured in. He slowly stood, still feeling the pain, and looked at the ceiling. An idea suddenly came to him.

"I wonder." He muttered, then raising his voice, "Megatron!"

There was a beep of recognition. A new hologram appeared before Optimus. It was a direct replica of Megatron. He looked frozen in place, optics blank. The red and blue bot felt an instinctive fear bubble in his Spark, but anger and hatred overpowered the feeling. He glared at the hologram as if it was the real Megatron.
