Elliana tossed and turned in her sleep. She hated her dreams. Weird dreams, even scarier weird dreams. This one was just plain freaky. Elliana was walking, and then suddenly got stabbed and died. Out of nowhere! What was this dream? And then after she died, she met her brothers in heaven. Elliana didn't even have a brother! She never did. And then her brother told her that he was Jason? Jason was her brother? Then Cole came up, and said that he was also her brother. What?
Elliana awoke in a sweat, but more in confusion. First, why were Jason and Cole her brothers! That was gross, in so many ways... And who had stabbed her? She shook her head and focused on forgetting the ridiculously stupid dream.
She climbed out of bed and checked the time. Four forty-three. In the morning. Awesome. She got ready for school, even though it was early. She'd gone to bed early, so she probably hadn't lost too much sleep. After brushing her hair, making an early breakfast, getting dressed and packing her bag, she realized something...
It was Sunday.
Sighing in frustration, Elliana flopped onto her messy bed. She should probably make her bed... but she didn't want to. She sighed again. She had nothing else to do, right? She reluctantly made her bed, then checked the time. Quarter after five, on the dot. Great. Still the early hours of the morning.
"What are you doing up?" Someone asked from behind her.
Elliana jumped up and yelped in surprise. She turned around to see Jason, looking at her in confusion. She placed a hand over her chest and inhaled deeply.
"You scared me! What are you doing here?" Elliana asked.
"I was checking on you." Jason shrugged.
"It's five." Elliana said.
"Well, I didn't have anything to do, so I figured I'd come here and wait for you to wake up. Maybe read a little. You've got a lot of books here."
"I gave you books already."
Jason stared at the floor sheepishly.
Elliana gasped. "You did not!" She said.
"It was Rebecca's fault!" Jason said in defense. "I had them far enough away from the water, then she went to look at them, and when she put them down, they fell in, and-"
Elliana shook her head and turned away in annoyance. She felt arms wrap her in a hug from the back, and Jason placed his head on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry." He whispered.
When she tilted her head to look at him, he saw him staring at her with the most sincere puppy dog eyes Elliana had ever seen. She sighed.
"Fine. You're forgiven. I can't stay mad at you." Elliana smiled.
Jason smiled back at her and planted a kiss on her cheek. Elliana blushed, and turned around so that she was facing him, then began leading him to the kitchen.
"Where are we going?" Jason asked.
"I made myself breakfast, but I can make you something too. I'm just kind of hungry." Elliana said.
Jason nodded and Elliana continued. When she got to the kitchen, there was a toast with peanut butter lying on the counter. Elliana pushed it towards Jason.
"You can eat that. I'll make myself something else. What do you want?" Elliana asked.
"Oh, you don't have to make me anything. I'm fine. You can have the toast too."
Elliana rolled her eyes and ripped the toast in half. "I'll make some pancakes." She said.
Jason agreed sheepishly, and Elliana watched him finish his half of the toast in two seconds flat.
