Elliana X Jason

Eleven, Frederick's Back

Elliana rushed to Jason's side right as he went unconscious. She fell to her knees and stared at him in horror. She screamed his name, but he didn't wake up. Rebecca, Alex and Ian joined her side after a moment. Emily and Stacy both placed their hands on Elliana's shoulders.

"They know what to do. Leave them to it." Stacy said.

Elliana nodded and got up to step away, never looking away from Jason. Emily and Stacy led her away, until they reached a rock. The two of them sat Elliana down, and stood next to her. Elliana eventually wore off the shock.

"What happened to Ryan and Cole?" She asked.

This led the three of them to look up and find Ryan and Cole with their eyes. Emily noticed them first, and pointed them out to Stacy and Elliana.

"Are they okay?" Stacy asked.

"I dunno. They look freaked out." Emily said.

Emily and Stacy walked over, but Elliana couldn't move. Was Jason all right? What was happening to him? He didn't look okay... but he would be.

Right?

Emily and Stacy rejoined Elliana, this time with Ryan and Cole.

"What was that? Is he okay?" Ryan asked.

"I... I don't know." Elliana said, blinking back tears.

"You don't know what it was, or you don't know if he's okay?" Cole asked.

"I don't know if he's okay." Elliana said, rubbing away the single tear that slipped out.

"Well then what was it?" Cole asked.

"Um... Sometimes Jason needs water. Because of his... alligator thing. When he's not near water for more than an hour, he gets... different. Cole, remember when he chased us?" Elliana began.

"Yeah."

"That was the water guy. Usually when he needs water, he can hurt people, but only if he thinks that they're trying to take him away from water. But that time... he was chasing me for no reason. It's really weird. He could feel it, just now. But it looked a lot more painful than it usually is. I just... I just hope he's okay."

Ryan placed a hand on Elliana's shoulder. "He'll be fine. It's okay."

Cole looked up. "What do you care, Ryan?" He asked.

"I don't like anybody being hurt. Plus, he was never mean to us. We've kind of been rude to him by default. He should give him a chance." She said.

Cole scoffed. "You do whatever you want. He's a jerk."

"Whatever." Ryan said, rolling her eyes for seemingly the billionth time. Awkward silence followed.

"So... I had a really bad sub in school today." Stacy said.

Emily elbowed her. "How is this the time for that?" She asked.

"I don't know! There was tension!" Stacy muttered.

Cole laughed, but it was still awkward.It remained that way, with slight attempts at conversation. After what felt like an eternity, Ian arrived to deliver news.

"He's okay. He doesn't seem to be in pain. His pulse and breathing are good." Ian said.

Elliana almost cried from relief, but she only allowed one tear to slip out. She inhaled deeply.

"Are you sure?" Elliana asked.

Ian smiled. "Yes. He looks completely painless and-"

He was interrupted by a cry of pain.
