A/N This chapter takes place right after the scene when Ryan flips Jason off at the end of chapter five.

TW: Anxiety/Panic Attacks

Ryan left Elliana's house in annoyance. She walked to the bus stop, fuming. She got on the bus and sat down, waiting the eternity it took to get from Elliana's to her house. Who the hell did this Jason guy think he was? He thought he could just walk into Elliana's life as her boyfriend, and that Ryan would accept it? Not a chance. Elliana was one of Ryan's best friends. Plus, he'd bullied her brother. No one called Cole an idiot.

"Hey Ryan." Cole said when Ryan finally walked into the house.

"Oh, shut up, idiot." Ryan said.

Correction: No one other than Ryan called Cole an idiot.

"Someone's in a bad mood." Cole noted.

Ryan sighed. "Where are mom and dad?" She asked.

"Dinner, with Stacy and Emily's parents."

"They didn't think to invite the kids?"

"They're going to some fancy hotel. No kids allowed."

"They couldn't have waited? It's like, three o'clock."

"Two thirty, actually." Cole pointed out.

Ryan rolled her eyes. "What time will they be home?" She asked.

"Tomorrow."

"Tomorrow?

"Tomorrow night."

"Why?" Ryan grumped.

"They want to get away from the kids." Cole said, giving Ryan a knowing look.

Ryan grunted.

"They left me in charge." Cole said smugly.

Ryan rolled her eyes again. "As if." She opened her phone to find a text from her parents, showing that they left her in charge. She stuck it into Cole's face. "See, I'm in charge."

"Why? Why are you always in charge?"

"I'm older." Ryan shrugged.

"Wha- By ten minutes!" Cole said.

"Maybe it's 'cause I'm more responsible." Ryan said.

"Says who?" Cole asked.

"Said the bathroom, after you flooded it." Ryan said.

"Ugh! You're the worst sister ever!"

"I know, bud." Ryan said, patting him on the shoulder.

Ryan made her way to her room with her brother screaming obscenities for no reason. But the second she closed her door, she felt it. Every bit of her tensed.

"No... not now... it already happened yesterday... it's not supposed to happen again..." Ryan stuttered to herself.

She stood there for a moment, telling herself nothing was happening. Nothing could happen. It happened already the day before. When Elliana had come, the stress of what her brother told her freaked her out a little.

"No... I was supposed to be happy!" Ryan yelled, her lip quivering.

She'd had it. It had been horrible, but it had made her feel better. When it was over, she felt triumphant. She was supposed to be happy. She'd been happy all day.

"No... darnit... this is all Jason's fault... why did he have to..."

She felt an overwhelming feeling of dread crawl up her spine, leaving goosebumps across her arms. She ran into her closet and locked herself in, collapsing on the floor as the tears started coming.
