Elliana had stopped crying a long while ago. None of them had talked about what had happened. They'd all just sat there and were currently in the process of giving each other manicures. They chit-chatted about this and that, but none of them acknowledged the fight.

"I love that color on you." Stacy said, gesturing to Elliana's sapphire nails.

"Thanks. I'm trying for a galaxy theme, so I'm just gonna add a couple stars." She said. "What about you?"

"I'm making an ombre rainbow. Thumb has red and orange, pointer has orange and yellow, et cetera, until the blue and purple pinky. Emily?" Stacy asked.

"I'm trying to do writing." She said, rubbing a nail polish remover drenched tissue over her finger for the fifth time. "I don't think it'll work, though, so I might just do a rainbow heart."

"You can do rainbow hearts?" Stacy asked, impressed.

"Girl, all I need is practice and a toothpick." Emily joked. Her eyes lit up suddenly. "I could do a pride flag themed!" She said excitedly.

"What do you mean?" Elliana asked.

"You can't do the full rainbow on one hand, unless you do what Stacy's doing. But I hate blending. But... the pride flag has the six colors of the rainbow, and an extra four! It's perfect." She said excitedly, reaching for the black nail polish.

"Huh." Stacy and Elliana both said, agreeing to the genius of that idea.

Then, without warning, Jason appeared in the room. Stacy jumped.

"Damn, now I gotta redo the blend." Stacy said, reaching for the nail polish remover that sat next to Emily.

Jason didn't seem to notice, though. "Elliana." He breathed.

"If you're here to apologize, don't bother." Elliana muttered. "I don't want to hear it."

"Apologize for what?" Jason asked.

The girls shared a look of confusion between them. "You know, for fighting with Elliana and taking Ryan's side." Emily said.

Jason's nose scrunched up. "Why would I ever take Ryan's side?"

"I don't know." Stacy said it slowly, because now all three girls were confused. "You didn't tell us."

"Oh. I don't remember. Rebecca said I was gone for about two weeks, so-"

"Oh my God." Elliana breathed. "Jason? Is it really you? The real you?"

Jason's face stretched into a long, happy smile. Joy filled Elliana's heart so fast that she gasped. It overflowed from her heart. The joy was stretching across her whole body, down to her tippy-toes. But there was so much of it that Elliana's body couldn't hold onto it all. It spread across the room, and was practically palpable in the air. Seeming to sense it, Emily and Stacy collected the nail polish quickly and rushed out of the room. But Elliana was frozen still with shock.

"Elliana..." Jason said, breathless and smiling. "You don't know how much I missed you."

With that, Elliana sprung herself onto him. Seeming to expect that, his arms wrapped around her in a second. Elliana couldn't even control her body, and so it was an expected surprise when her lips found his.

Oh gosh, she'd missed this. She'd missed him.

Jason pulled his lips away for a moment, his forehead still pressed against Elliana's. "I love you." He crushed his lips hers again, and they only pulled apart one more time, so Elliana could utter the same whispered, breathless, "I love you."
