It almost felt like I was slipping my way into a group I knew I didn't belong to, but I didn't even have a moment to enjoy it. The front door opened, and I suddenly had a horrible image flash through my mind. As the footsteps approached, I told myself that I was just being paranoid, there was no way that he was this stupid, it was just Kaminari who was about to come around the corner flashing electricity covered finger guns at us. But unfortunately for me, my intuition served and it was indeed Elias who came into the common space, a gloved hand raised in a wave to me. He was smiling, but just barely.

"Hey Claeson!" Midoriya called out.

"Hey man," Kiri said too, his friendly smile coming over his face.

"Elias," Todoroki greeted him. Thank god.

"Tch," I heard close to my ear.

That was yet again a shared sentiment. Momo didn't say anything, which I could only expect of her, but she waved, and a friendly smile came over her face. Elias gave everyone a nod instead of greeting them, which was the first sign that something was amiss. His eyes were flaring something strange. That was the second.

"This is a breach of your contract," I informed him, my voice immediately sharp. "You can't show up here."

"I tried to call," he started. Something was definitely wrong.

I switched back into English. "What happened?"

"I've been temporarily banished from the Nether Realm," he said, putting a hand over his heart, refusing to switch back to Swedish. "And I was hoping a gracious, merciful ruler such as yourself would allow me temporary refuge in her kingdom."

Demon had kicked him out of the apartment and was catering to my God Complex? In a word? Yikes.

"Tch," I heard again, the sentiment significantly less mutual.

I heard Kiri and Midoriya speculating, but what I was seeing in Elias' eyes was starting to form into something more solid, and what I saw in them was very sad. I pointed at the floor next to the armchair Bakugo and I were sharing.

"You can sit here. Quietly," I told him, in English, letting out another sigh as he gave me an appreciative nod. "Do you understand?"

His fists raised in front of his chest. "Of course."

"Elias," Momo said, sliding herself and Todoroki over on the couch, which immediately made him look nervous. "You can sit on the couch."

"It's best if I don't," he told her, taking a seat on the floor beside us. "The work study with Coach Stronghold is not without reason."

I fought the urge to roll my eyes. It was a considerable feat.

Everyone seemed to understand that enough so that nobody fought him on it. As he took a seat next to me, his pale blonde hair reflecting the light in my peripheral vision, I almost found myself holding my hand out for him to take. Old habits and all that. Horrified by that, I clenched and unclenched my hand casually, and after I was sure nobody had read my mind and saw that, I clutched it around the armrest of the chair instead.

"I've always liked this trick," Elias said, tilting his chin towards the two pieces of parchment on the table.

"Tch."

Elias looked up towards the source of the mouth click. "Has she shown you this trick in private?"

"Elias," I warned.

"You should ask her to," he continued, ignoring me, taking Bakugo's silence as an answer. He glanced back down at the list of names on the paper, and suddenly I wished I could grab at them and rip them into a million pieces. "You'd enjoy it."
