The day after Kiri's trip the Hawks Hero Agency, he was in a bad mood. Which I wasn't necessarily surprised by. But that's not to say I wasn't annoyed by it. This was his first dabbling in the less than noble world of heroics. I kept needed to remind myself to think of him like the five year old American kids. That's when most of them start getting corrupted, so I figured it was a reasonable comparison.

He was huffing and puffing all the way up to spot and I could tell I was about to get a talking to about how I was defiling the name of heroics or something, but that was fine. I could handle that. It was a small price to pay. As long as he got the information I needed.

He was still grumbling when we were sitting back to back in the woods. I figured I'd let him start talking, but I was losing patience.

"So?" I probed lightly, after my ability to wait had dried up.

"So."

"Did you get it?"

"I got it."

"Yes! I knew I could count on you!" I whisper yelped, clapping my hands softly, kicking my feet out in front of me. He let out a long sigh. He was not celebrating along with me. "What? This is good news! Why aren't you happy?"

"I got permanently banned from the Hawks Hero Agency, you know!" I was so, so mindful not to laugh. "Apparently, the pros don't take very well to being blackmailed by up and coming heroes!"

"So what?" I asked him. "Don't you intern with that Fat Gum guy, anyways? Why would you ever need to go back to Hawks' agency?"

"That's so not the point, Cass!" He whined, in a way that put both Mina and Kaminari to shame.

Ugh. I even missed those spazzy little weirdos.

"You're right. Sorry," I lied. But I made it a good lie. "So, what'd he say? How do I find her?"

"Hold on. It's not that simple," Kiri said reluctantly. Now I was groaning. "He used to have a way to contact your sister, but that was through the Shie Hassaikai. He says he's pretty sure he can get into contact with her through some mutual contacts, but it might take a while."

That fucking raid. I was so, so careful, but that fucking raid ended up biting me in the ass regardless, I couldn't help but think to myself.

"How long?" I asked.

"He didn't specify."

"You didn't ask?"

"Newsflash!" He whispered harshly. "I'm kind of new to this whole thing."

"Right." Fair enough. "Sorry."

"Anyways," Kiri said, letting out yet another half groan, half sigh. "When he gets in contact with her, he'll write the information on the back of an autograph and send it back to the dorm rooms with Tokoyami for me. And that's when,"

"With Tokoyami?" My eyes shot open. "No, we can't have that."

"It'll be framed," Kiri said.

"Still!"

"Tokoyami isn't going to pry the picture out of the frame," Kiri assured me. I was not assured. I'd pry the picture out of the frame. So would Elias. Even if we didn't have any stake in it. "That would be psychotic."

But maybe he was right. Because I had no other choice, I decided to take the risk and trust him.

"Fine," I conceded. "But how the hell are you going to give me some framed picture of Hawks and not have that be weird?"

"I have that part covered already," he said. Another sigh. "You're going to lend me a book today, and when I give it back, I'll fold the picture up and put it between the pages."
