Grim walked out from the trees and stood in front of the mine entrance. "H-Hey, monster!" Grim said. "I'm uh, I-I'm over here!"
That's when you heard a growl and the monster was quick to reappear in front of him, still in the mine. "BEGOOOOONE!" It yelled as it charged at the two.
"He's comin' our way! (Y/N)!" You stepped out from the brush and reacted by throwing a knife at it. the dust exploded when it made contact with it. It turned it's head at you, even though you couldn't see the eyes you knew it was angry. You held contact with it as Grim ran behind your legs.
"Hey monster, right over here!" You yelled as you threw another knife.
It growled. "Thieeef thiiis waaay tooooo... Neeevva giiive stooones! Neeevvvaaa!" It said. It started swinging the lantern at the two. You dodged and threw the remaining of your knives to stall it. You even pulled Grim out of the way so he wouldn't get hit.
The cat like monster yelped when his nose almost brushed against the lantern. "If it lands one of those punches, we're toast!"
"Then we better lure it away as far from the cave as possible!" You said. You picked Grim up and started to run to the woods, with it behind you.
"Begooone!" The beast yelled. "BEGOOOOONE!" It chased the two to somewhere in the middle of the clearing from the entrance.
Grim peaked over your shoulder. "We got him a good distance away from the mine!" He said.
"Ace! Now!" You yelled.
"You bet!" The ginger said as he stepped out from his hiding spot. "I got this! One extra-large gust of wind coming right up!" His pen was ready as he cast the spell. You stopped running and held Grim in front of you.
"With a side of Grim's blazin' hot fire!" Grim said. He took in a deep breath and blew his flames. The two spells collided in the middle and headed right for the monster. It groaned when the spells hit.
"How's that taste?! With my winds fanning them, even Grim's feeble flames can become an inferno!"
"Whaddaya mean 'feeble'?! Ya really don't know how to shut yer mouth, do ya?"
"Girls, girls, you're both pretty!" You said with an eye roll. You saw that it was weakened from the inferno. You looked to the left, to where the last one was standing. "Deuce you're up!"
"Just stay calm, aim carefully... and pull out the biggest, heaviest thing I can think of..." Deuce mumbled to himself. He felt his heart beating wildly in his chest. He can do this. He pulled out his pen and aimed. "Get 'em, cauldron!" The cauldron appeared above the monster and landed on its body. It was now pinned to the ground like a bug in a collection. It groaned in pain and confusion.
"Nailed it!" Grim said as you set him down. "The plan's workin'! Look (Y/N), that monster got smashed flat by a falling cauldron, just like Ace did!" You giggled remembering that.
"Coulda done without the reminder, thanks!" Ace said before letting out a sigh. "This has been one drag after another."
Deuce quickly ran and joined the rest of the group. "Quick! While it's distracted!" He said. "We need to get that magestone!"
You nodded and the four quickly ran into the mine. The monster sputtered in shock seeing the four run in the mine. "Waaait! Nooooooo!" It yelled.
The four ran to the spot where they first encountered the beast. "What does a magestone look like?" You asked.
"It's a bright stone with multiple colors in it." Ace said. The four quickly looked over the area hoping to see any signs of the stone.
