The four used the portal from the Dark Mirror to arrive back at the school. Deuce took the magestone from his pocket and handed it to the headmage. Crowley looked at the stone in shock. "Pardon?!" He said. "You're telling me you actually went to the Dwarfs' Mine in search of a magestone?"
"Uh, yes?" The four said in response. They don't understand how the headmage was so confused about the bargain he made with them.
"I didn't expect that you'd seriously do it, and never in my wildest imaginings did I think you would actually return with a magestone! And here I spent all evening preparing your expulsion documents."
"I appreciate the faith you had in us." You said, sarcastically.
"Are you serious?!" Grim said. "While we were fightin' some crazy monster for you, you were expelling us?!"
"'Monster'?" Crowley repeated in surprise.
"Yeah." Ace said. "There was a monster all right. A big, nasty one. It nearly killed us! (Y/N) busted out this superpower so Deuce wouldn't get killed."
"Would you kindly relate this story in full?" Crowley took the four into his office. The room looked normal enough for a headmage, with light purple walls, gray marble floor with a dark purple rug on it and purple curtains with green stars on them. There are seven portraits of the Great Seven behind his wooden desk. As you sat in a chair in front of the desk, you felt as if the eyes of the seven were staring at you. Once everyone was seated, the four recounted the events of the mine to the headmage, who listened with great interest.
He hummed when the story was complete. "So a mysterious monster was living in the mines." He said. "And the four of you worked together to destroy it, and then brought its magestone to me?"
"I don't know that I'd call it 'working together'." Ace said.
"It was more like we just happened to share the same goal at the same time." Deuce said.
"We did work together, they just don't want to admit it." You said.
"Oh gracious." Crowley said before he started sobbing. The four looked at each other in bewilderment before looking back at the sobbing man.
"What is this guy's deal?!" Grim said. "Burstin' into tears in public? At his age?!"
"In all the decades I've worked at this school, the day has finally come when the students of Night Raven College have joined hands together to defeat a common foe!"
"Whoa! No!" Deuce said. "No way would I join hands with that guy!"
"Okay, one, there was no joining of hands. Gross." Ace said. "And two, exactly how old are you, Headmage?" You sighed as the boys denied working together.
"At this moment, I am moved beyond words." Crowley said. "This incident has proven my hopes were justified. (Y/N), my doubts are allayed! I was sure you would use your quirk to cause harm but you saved their lives with it. Also, for you... you possess the talents of a beastmaster!"
"A beastmaster?" You repeated, completely at loss about what he just said.
"My students have all been selected by the Dark Mirror for their exceptional talent and potential, but great talent begets great pride and big egos. Most are so self-reliant and self-centered that they never even consider cooperating with others."
"You make it sound like that's a bad thing." Grim said.
"It'll depend on the situation." You mumbled.
