Painting the Roses

The two followed the boys to a room with seven large mirrors after a trip to the nurse, to check on your arm. Above the mirror was the logo and name of the dorm. The four walked to the mirror labeled 'Heartslabyul' and walked through the shimmering glass. On the other side was a beautiful garden with heart shaped rose bushes, a hedge maze with a heart shaped fountain. The dorm itself was a large, beautiful red castle with hearts ingrained in it. The doors, some windows and other decorations were the signature shape while holding diamond shaped windows too. You looked around in awe at the place.

"Dang, this place is swank!" Grim said as he looked around. "This is nothing like our dumpster if a dorm."

"It's more of a work in progress." You said. The four took off into the hedge maze to find the housewarden. You saw more rose bushes, as you went deeper into the maze. Soon the group came across another student. He had ginger hair like Ace but his was lighter, in the school uniform and holding his pen.

"Aww yeah, I am getting my paint on!" He said to himself.

"Ah, someone's here." Grim said.

"They all gotta be red or it's 'off with my head!'"

You looked around and saw a mixture of white and red rose bushes. You saw something that dripped down a petal and onto the ground. 'Dèjá vu.' You thought, remembering your dream from last night. That's when the guy realized he wasn't alone. He turned around and you saw his green eyes and red diamond mark on his face. "Huh? You guys need something?"

"What are you doing there?" Ace asked.

"Are you blind? I'm painting these roses red, duh."

"What?" Deuce asked as the four's eyes widened. "Why?!"

The guy chuckled. "So naïve, you put the n in newb." A look of recognition came across his face. "Hold the phone, I know you! You're the ones who broke a billion thaumark chandelier and nearly got expelled for it, yeah?"

The three human's faces turned a small pink, feeling embarrassed. "That chandelier is gonna haunt us till the day we graduate, isn't it?" Ace mumbled.

"Pretty likely." You said. The guy looked at Ace, remembering something else.

"And you! You're the one who ate the housewarden's tart that same night! You guys are the hot topic around campus! I've gotta get in on this fleeting fame. I'm just gonna grab a selfie real quick." He pulled out his phone and took a selfie before any objections were given. You weren't new to people randomly grabbing your picture, it's been happening since the USJ attack back home. "It's cool if I post this on Magicam, right? Gimmie your names so I can tag you."

"I'm Deuce Spade." The blue haired boy said.

"Ace." The ginger said.

"I'm Grim, and that's my henchman (Y/N)." Grim said.

The guy typed on his phone. A cling was heard from the device and he put it back in his pocket. "Uploaded! Sweet. Oh, I'm Cater Diamond, by the way." He said, introducing himself. "I'm a junior here at Heartslabyul, but Cater is fine. Or Cay-Cay if you're cray-cray! Sooooo nice to meetcha."

"It's nice to meet you too." You said.

"Ah, you're the prefect of that so called Ramshackle House dorm right? Like I can't believe a pretty girl actually lives there! It's all gloomy and looks like hot garbage on Magicam. No filter could savage that dump." You weren't sure what to say to that. You failed to notice the suspicious looks Ace and Deuce threw each other. Was he flirting with you or just throwing a compliment?
