chapter 2: reno is annoying (but in a loving way)

~reno~

My phone's alarm goes off, but part of me just wants to ignore it in favour of continuing to sleep. It's tough adjusting to the timezone, especially since Weisz and I napped for a while the moment we got to the hotel. If anything, we should have tried staying up until it was time for us to go to bed so we would have been exhausted and fall asleep right away.

I sit up and rub my eyes before turning off my alarm. I look over at Weisz, who is still fast asleep. I don't even want to wake him up, but we were given the schedule for today and have to meet in the lobby soon.

I stretch before I gently shake my boyfriend awake. "Weisz," I say softly.

Weisz, however, clearly wants to keep sleeping considering he pulls the blanket over his head and mutters something incoherently. I can always let him sleep for a few more minutes while I get ready, but he also takes a while to get ready being the pretty boy that he is. So it's best to wake him up now.

I pull the blanket away from him and lean close to him, knowing exactly what to say to wake him up. "Stay in bed if you have a leather jacket fantasy," I say.

That's enough for Weisz to roll over in the bed and open his eyes to look at me. "I don't have one."

"Uh huh," I say, running my hands through his hair. "We can always test that theory, you know. I did bring my leather jacket with me, after all."

"You keep saying that we can test the theory, but we never do. So I'm taking it as a win."

"Or..." I lean even closer to him, my lips barely brushing up against his ear. "I'm waiting for the right moment. When we're all alone. Not wondering if anyone is going to bother us. Just you and me."

Despite me not really saying anything sexual, it's enough to get Weisz's cheeks to burn red. In an attempt to hide it, he gets off the bed and goes towards his suitcase to pick an outfit out for the day.

I guess that's one way to wake him up.

"Want me to wear my leather jacket today?" I ask.

Weisz's glares at me, but he's still blushing profusely. "Go away."

"Well, that's a rude thing to say to your boyfriend. How would you feel if I did go away? If I just packed my bags and headed back home?"

"Did you drink something that just makes you extra annoying today?" Weisz asks. "I feel like you're trying to get under my skin."

       "Is it working?"

       "Yes, it's working."

"In a bad way or a good way? Like are you actually annoyed by me and want me to shut up or...?"

Weisz shakes his head as he starts to get changed. "No, no, I'm not actually getting annoyed. Don't worry."

I nod. "Okay, just wanted to make sure."

Weisz smiles at me, and part of me wants to say yet another thing to annoy him, but I also decide to give him a break even if he just told me that he's not actually getting annoyed by me. I should still not push his buttons all the time.

So I get off of the bed and get dressed as well before heading to the washroom to brush my teeth. Weisz does the same, fixing up his hair once he's done. I just run my fingers through my hair to make sure there's no unruly knots in it.

We still have a few more minutes before we need to meet up in the lobby, but Weisz and I decide to head there anyway. If we stayed in our room for a bit longer, I'd probably be tempted to kiss him, and who knows if we would be able to stop in time?

A few students are there already, enjoying the breakfast buffet. I lead Weisz over to it so we can get something to eat. Note to self; wake up a bit earlier than when we need to meet so Weisz and I can actually sit down and enjoy breakfast instead of rushing to eat.

A teacher calls all of us students over, so the ones eating quickly clean up their breakfast before going into our touring groups. It sucks that out of all the students we could have been grouped with, Weisz and I got stuck with his ex-girlfriend. And to make it worse, none of our friends are with us.

This is going to be a very fun trip.

Each group is assigned one of the tour guides, and my group gets assigned to Gabriel, which I guess is a good thing since he already finds Marie annoying. Hopefully, he won't be afraid to put her in her place if she acts conceited again.

Though knowing her, she's probably the type of person to try to fire someone if she doesn't like them standing up to her.

If that's the case, I will gladly tell her a few places she can shove it.

"Today, we will be visiting The Louvre," Gabriel says to our group. "It's such an amazing place to go, and one of the places anyone should visit if they're in Paris."

"The Louvre?" Marie asks. "As in a museum? Can't we go anywhere else?"

"Not this bitch again," Gabriel mutters under his breath in French. I try my best not to laugh so Marie doesn't suspect that Gabriel said something about her again. "I did not decide the schedule for your tour. That was made by your teachers, so I will not go against their wishes and change the tour. Feel free to sit outside of The Louvre when we get there, but I'm sure some of your classmates here would love to see it."

"Yeah, Marie," someone says. "We're not going to cater this trip to you. I've been dying to see The Louvre." Marie rolls her eyes, but doesn't say anything else.

I tap Weisz's shoulder before I lean towards him and whisper, "He called Marie a bitch again." Weisz snorts a laugh, then quickly covers his mouth to prevent himself from laughing out loud.

Marie glares at the two of us. "What's so funny?"

"Nothing," I say. "What? I'm not allowed to joke around with my boyfriend? Geez, Marie, not everything is about you."

"I know you two were talking about me."

"Oh my God, I just said not everything is about you. Get over yourself."

Marie glares again before crossing her arms and looking away. If she's going to be like this for the entire trip, she's only going to ruin it for me. I really hope she stops because I want Weisz and I to actually enjoy this trip.

I already can't wait for when we have free time to do whatever we want.
