chapter 26: reno is so silly when he's drunk

~reno~

One of Weisz new teammates decided to throw a party to celebrate the start of the surfing season as well as to celebrate everyone who made the team. It's not just anyone who made the team that's invited. Weisz was told to invite as many people as he would like.

The party is taking place the night before Weisz's first practice, so his parents were a bit reluctant to agree to letting Weisz got to the party, especially since both the party and the practice are going to be in the city. They were concerned about me and Weisz making the drive back late at night.

Thankfully, Jane's parents are letting us all sleep over at her house after the party. According to Weisz, Jane's mom and stepdad are the most lenient when it comes to teenagers partying and drinking. They offered everyone to sleep over so they have a safe place to sober up if any of us choose to drink. Weisz and I have no intention to drink, but at least Weisz will be closer to his practice in the morning.

I drive Weisz and I to the party and as we get closer to the house, I can tell the party is going to be packed. There are a bunch of cars already parked on the side of the road, and it's quite difficult for me to find a place to park. I eventually find somewhere, but it's a bit of a walk for me and Weisz.

I'm right about the party being packed. It's mainly taking place in the backyard of the house since there's a pool there. Quite a few people are in the pool while some are just sitting by it.

"Damn, now I wish you brought your swimming trunks," Weisz says. "I would have loved to see you shirtless."

I know Weisz is trying to make me flustered, but it never works on me since my mind constantly wanders to sexual things. In fact, I was thinking the same thing; I would have loved to see Weisz shirtless and wet with water.

Being the amazing boyfriend I am, I decide to turn things around on him and say, "I can always go skinny dipping."

That immediately makes Weisz's face turn a deep shade of red. "Not in public, Reno."

I smile at him. "I'm just kidding."

Two people suddenly walk over to me and Weisz; one I recognize as that annoying Kyle guy, and the other is a girl that looks quite similar to Kyle. His sister, maybe?

"Weisz, I'm surprised you made it," Kyle says. "You know, since you didn't surf at all last year. I thought you quit or something."

       "Well, I didn't," Weisz says.

"That's good," the girl says. "And as a celebration..." She holds out a plastic red cup towards Weisz. "Here. A drink."

Weisz doesn't grab the drink. He just stares at the cup. "Is it alcohol?"

"It's a party, Weisz," Kyle says. "Of course it's alcohol."

       "Oh," Weisz says. "No, thanks."

The girl still holds out the cup towards Weisz. "Come on, it's just one drink. Don't you want to celebrate making it onto the team? I mean, that's what the party is for. To celebrate. And it's not like you'll be the only one drinking."

I never get why people think it's okay to pressure someone into drinking. If someone says they don't want to drink, then they don't want to drink. It should be the end of the conversation.

And unfortunately for my boyfriend, he sometimes has a hard time saying no to people when peer pressure gets to him. So Weisz ends up taking the cup, but he doesn't drink the contents yet. Maybe he grabbed it to get Kyle and his sister to walk away, but they don't. They just stand there as if they want to watch Weisz drink it.
