"Fear inside my brain, and doubt takes over love, with darkness clouds the light."

Leo

WHEN I met Hermione I never would have thought she would impact my life. I never thought in a short notice she would become something— someone that has my heart.

When Santos told me that she was gone from the office my heart beat picked up so quick. I never reacted so quickly barking orders at everyone. Seeing red and anger consuming me all over.

When we found her with a Rossi seconds away from kidnapping her, and god knows do what with her. But what he said about Carlos Rossi wants with her made me go into a protective spiral.

It didn't help that when Ricky played back the cameras to see what happened for security breach purposes; it shows she disregard everything I told her and walked out the room unsecured. I never been so pissed with her in my life.

So I did what I had to do and took charge. If she's at work, she can't have a bodyguard on the inside. And a hospital is not very secure if someone in the Rossi family or a more dangerous criminal.

I know that my actions was harsh and possessive, I want her to succeed as a surgeon. She works hard and I know she is good at what she does. But she won't be able to keep pursuing her dreams if she is dead.

"Leo, Aunt Iris is in the garden." Gia says as she walks into my office.

"Thanks Gia." I reply nodding before she walks back out.

I follow her out shortly after, my thoughts blowing like a tornado in my head. Who is Hermione? I know she is adopted, but her adoption records were sealed like the Pentagon. And when Gia and Ricky did get the records open, nothing was there. Not even an original birthdate.

I didn't think any of it, remembering her telling me that her dad was a cop on NYPD. And I know they have pull on many places. But now I believe it could be someone higher then the NYPD.

The Rossi's believe she is the key, but to fucking what?

Aunt Iris gave us all a scare last night. I haven't seen her act like that in years. But I remember mom telling me the epic story of her, Aunt Scar, and Aunt Jade; The Sirens. It made me want to protect the women in my life even more. It also made me want to stay away from sex trafficking ring business; it's downright wrong.

"Aunt Iris," I greet as I walk up the gazebo stairs that stood in the middle of the garden.

She turns around smiling at me, but her smile holds sadden it seems. I pull her into a hug and she embraces it immediately.

"How are you?" I ask as we pull away and sit down in the chair setting.

"I'm fine now, sorry I had an episode on your opening night."

"You know your well-being is more important Aunt Iris." I comment and she nods smiling.

"Where's Jack Jack?" She asks using her nickname she gave to Jack.

"He's at the company, he had meeting this morning, but he will be here in the afternoon. We got Rossi Roaches to deal with at one of our locations." I explain and she nods.

"I understand that little family can be a pain. They are merely just trying to scrape whatever they can get to get up the food chain. Remind them why the Sicario's rule the east coast." She says with all seriousness in her tone.

I nod agreeing with her words, "I plan to. What did you need to speak to me about?"

Aunt Iris looks out to the large fountain in front of the gazebo, "How well do you know that girl?" She asks her eyes finally finding mine.
