Hey guys, for this chapter I will be making up diseases to fit the One Piece world, I will try to make it as believable as possible but I make no guarantees about it. Just wanted to give you a heads up. Enjoy the chapter!! Also this is another LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNGGG chapter!!!! Just one or two more chapters before the hiatus from this story until we know what happens to Koby!!!!!!!

Hell. That was the best way to describe your situation, absolute hell. You wasted no time in setting up the triage tent and getting people tested. Most couldn't eat solids so you had them in beds, and gave them fluids and liquid nutrients to try and bring their numbers to a better level. Those that could were slowly getting worse, you made sure that you got blood samples from those that were already sick to those who hadn't exhibited any symptoms yet. However with everyone being severely dehydrated and malnourished you needed to work on that first and foremost. To ensure that none of your men and women got sick you ordered everyone to wear gloves, goggles and masks, for the time being. Once you were sure to wasn't spread through the air they wouldn't need to wear them anymore.

"Major General! We have a report from Vice-Admiral Dalmation, he says he would like to burn all the items that have fabric on them he's calling HQ for replacements now."

"Very good, give him the go ahead and let him know I said thank you!"

"Dr!! We have someone coding!"

You ran to the person dying, you worked for ten minutes bringing him in and out of being awake, unfortunately he was your first casualty. He couldn't have been more than 35 years old. It made your heart sad.

"Find out if he has any family, if so bring them to him, and ask them permission for us to do an autopsy. Maybe we can figure this disease out sooner."

"Y/N!!!!" Grount came around yelling when he saw the dead man he grew more quiet out of respect. "Hey so I've been asking around and I guess this disease starts with everyone throwing up, then getting a really high fever, after that everyone becomes lethargic and their hair starts to fall out. Then the vomiting starts again and then all that's left is the fever."

"Wow, uh thank you Grount, I didn't even think about that..."

"I figured you'd be busy with everything else. Did this help?"

"More than you know thank you!" You patted his shoulder and went to check on the progress of everyone else.

Koby was directing and helping with tested people, since he was in charge of this unit, you had to talk to him. Even though it felt as though your heart was in your throat as you did so.

"Captain Koby, how are you and your men holding up?"

"Dr. L/N, we may need another tent and beds more and more people are presenting with stages 2 or 3 of this virus, fewer people are coming in with stage one."

"Got it I'll ask Helmeppo to take out the futons we have on board. We were not given enough people or supplies to handle this. Keep up the good work, don't forget to switch out with someone every once in a while so you can eat and stay hydrated." You turned to the rest of the group. "Thank you all for your hard work! The moment we get everyone tested and placed the hard part for you so over."

You walked away but Koby grabbed your hand, and looked you in the eye.

"Keep yourself safe too Y/N-San." He gave your hand a squeeze and you returned it.

"You too Koby." You went back to work.

Three hours later you felt nothing but despair. The man who died, his internal organs were burnt to a crisp. As of all the oxygen and water in his body was dried out and lit itself ablaze. You couldn't even do a proper autopsy to see where the damage started or where it ended. This disease was nothing like anything you'd ever seen it also wasn't in any of your medical journals meaning you would have to think of a name for it, and record it.
