"So what you're saying is that all the water further inland is rotten and full of oil?"
"Not oil Captain. But an oil-like consistency. I don't know how to describe it."
You'd been on this island for a week, so far nothing had tried to attack you yet. But you couldn't get rid of the feeling that something horrible would happen, and that you specifically and Koby were being watched.
Helmeppo, Hibari and Saphi were also starting to feel anxious and you couldn't blame them. No one stayed outside at night, when you told Koby what Yoru had said he had all the men and women inside at night and on alert.
"Haaa. And have you noticed any people here at all scout?"
"No sir. This island is deserted. If there were people here, they are long gone."
"And repairing the ship?"
"We make the repairs, and then the next morning...those repairs well, they break the next day."
"Y/N...I need to go out."
"What? I thought you said something was out there?"
"There is, but it's calling to me. If I don't go, it's going to destroy the ship and we'll have no way to leave."
"How do you know that?"
"Because it told me. Y/N if I don't go now, it'll summon that creature that caused us to nearly sink."
Before you could ask for more he flew off.
"YORU!" You yelled and attempted to go after him, but Koby grabbed your wrist and pulled you into him.
"Are you crazy? It's getting dark! Yoru will be okay." He made circular motions on your wrist to help you calm down.
"Yoru said that there's a creature out there and it's calling to him. And if he didn't go whatever attacked us our first night, and we'd never be able to leave."
"Are you saying that your stupid bird can communicate with the creature? You sure you're not in cahoots with the monsters?"
You glared at Hibari, and before anyone could say or do anything Saphi slaps her hand on the ground close to Hibari, growling at her.
"Hibari. This was a volunteer basis mission. Almost all the time missions don't turn out how you want. If you're scared just say so, if you can't contribute anything smart or useful than shut the fuck up!"
Hibari's lips quiver like she's about to cry. Koby keeps his hands on you and excuses everyone to their rooms. Which meant that Saphi stayed and you all left.
"Saphi you okay?"
"Yeah that little brat grinds on my nerves. She's a sniper so she doesn't ever really fight in combat she hides to take her shots. Not that we don't need a good shot like her, but damn is she annoying!"
"Thanks Saphi."
"You're my friend! No one accuses my friend of being a traitor!"
You nodded and you gave her a smile.
"Goodnight Saphi."
"Night Y/N! Love you!"
Love you too.
When you get into your room you slumped against the closed door, and brought your knees up. You didn't even sense Koby sit next to you and pull you close to him.
"Y/N...this isn't your fault."
"Yes it is."
"No it's not." He kissed your hair and slowly started to take your hair out of your braid, and brushed it out with his fingertips. "I know you're feeling guilty, and you're worried about Yoru. But we'll figure it out."
