<Koby's POV>

Everyone said it was okay. That things would go back to normal, but for Koby everything was normal. He trained, ate, slept, read the paper, checked in for SWORD, and did some fun things here and there. Nothing out of the ordinary...except for you.

Everyone who had been on that expedition had forgotten one single crew member, she was the only one who hadn't lost her memory. According to Garp she'd been on board as their medic and doctor for longer than a year. A whole year!

How do you just up and forget someone like that?

What was worse was that Grount said they'd all become really good friends. Koby being the first to befriend you, telling him that it wasn't easy since you're usually a closed off person. He tried to find something, a photo, a letter, a gift anything that would indicate that he knew you. But nothing he found nothing.

He noticed something else, that you were out right avoiding him. At least that's what he saw, everyone else thought she was just trying to give him space. He couldn't help but think it was more than that.

"Hey Koby! You heading somewhere?" Helmeppo called out behind him, smiling acting as though life hadn't become different.

"Hey Helmeppo-San. Ah I was just uh..."

"You were going to see her again huh?"

Koby couldn't understand this strange pull he felt towards the gloomy doctor. He found himself thinking about her whenever his mind wasn't occupied with something else. He heart would always skip a beat when he saw her sparring with Grount, which she seemed proficient at. Her exercise gear leaving little to the imagination, and he found himself staring at her body with less than pure intentions.

"I just wanted to see if she wanted to join us for dinner. She seems to be hiding away from everyone. But people have told me that she used to always eat with us."

"Koby maybe she's doing that cause she knows how awkward it would be for us. She has all the same memories we do, the only difference is she's the missing piece."

Koby wasn't going to let himself be deterred.

"I'll see you later Helmeppo-San."

He kept up his destination in mind and didn't comprehend how quickly he was striding towards your domain.

"I don't get why you don't just tell them!" Koby heard Grount yell right as he got to the door.

"It wouldn't make a difference Grount. They won't even care. Besides, Garp is planning something and even suggested where I should go."

"That doesn't mean that you need to go! C'mon Y/N! I didn't forget you! I remember everything! All of it! Why are you punishing me?"

It went quiet for a moment and then he heard your monotone voice take on a surprisingly kind tone.

"I'm not Grount. I asked if you could come with me. You're the only friend I have now. But it's your decision but I-I can't...I can't stay here where he is. It's too painful."

He? Who's he? And why is it painful?

"I'm sorry...I really am Y/N. I didn't think."

Koby had never heard his friends voice be that gentle ever. When he dared to peek through the small little window, he saw Grount hugging you and rubbing your back. His fists clenched and his stomach cramped. What the heck was wrong with him.
