Chapter 25

"A warning for what?" Peyton asked confused

"That if any of us say anything, this is the consequence" he pointed to my bed

Nobody knew what to say.

"Peyton could be next" Jay said seriously to Tyler "And then Andy, and CC and need I go on?"

"No" I shook my head

"Nobody says anything to anyone" Jay said sternly

"So we are just going to let him get away with running Allie over with his car?!" Peyton stood up off the bed

"I didn't say that" Jay crossed his arms

"You said we can't talk" Joey rose his hand slightly

"Yeah, all of you can't say thing, not to any cops or narks or anything"

"What about you?" I asked

"I'm going to talk to Dean"

"You are not!" I said loudly enough that it kind of hurt, but I ignored the pain

"Yeah man, bad idea" Tyler warned

"Terrible idea!" Peyton crossed her arms

"Can I talk to Jay alone?" I said not taking off my eyes off Jay.

The others left the room.

Jay sat down on my bed.

"You're not going" I took his hand

"I am. You're right, he's the one who hit you. It only makes sense"

"So let the police handle it"

"I will, eventually. But I can't stand that he did this to you"

"Going after him isn't going to solve anything, if anything it is just going to make him angrier, like you said, Peyton could be next"

He shook his head "That would only be if Tyler said anything, he always goes after who threatens him most"

"Why do you threaten him most?"

"I'm always the one who goes up against him, I make him put his money where his mouth is"

"Please don't go, you're going to get hurt"

"I'm not going to pick a fight with him, I'm just going to talk"

"I think you should know by now, he's not the talking type"

"Trust me, I know what I'm doing"

"Let me go with you"

"Not a chance in hell, baby"

He kissed me softly.

"I'll be back before you go to sleep" he squeezed my hand

And with that he left the room.
