You had recently celebrated your 19th birthday and took up employment at the house of Thomas Shelby and his wife Elizabeth.

You were tasked to care for their children who adored spending time with you and, since you were strictly Catholic, Elizabeth asked you to talk with Ruby and Charlie about the bible while her husband Thomas was away on business.

You knew that Thomas Shelby didn't believe in God but, since he had been gone for four months, you didn't mind to adhere to his wife's wishes in this regard.

Thomas and his wife Elizabeth were constantly fighting, even over the phone and, quite obviously, their mindsets were split when it came to raising their children. They were of different opinions when it came to education and cultural matters and you chose to follow Elizabeth's lead while her husband was away.

You hadn't met Thomas Shelby yet and only took his instructions over the phone once or twice. But you knew that he was set to return to Arrow House soon and you were eager to make his acquaintance.

His reputation preceded him and some of the maids were smitten by him, much to the dislike of his wife. But, unlike the other maids, you didn't care much for men yourself, in particular not any men who were more than twice your age.

Your mother had always been concerned about you taking up employment at the Shelby House since, as a God-fearing catholic woman, she didn't want you to be exposed to alcohol, drugs, illegal businesses and marriage problems.

Your mother believed that, serving the Shelby family would negatively impact and corrupt you since, until now, you had always been her innocent and rather well-mannered daughter. You never swore, never had a boyfriend and, most importantly, you never sinned.

Little did she know that this was about to change when Thomas Shelby returned from his overseas trip and when you laid eyes on the handsome much older man who so happened to be your employer.

It was a Sunday afternoon when you returned to Arrow House after having attended church service with your parents.

A black Bentley was waiting outside the mansion and you knew that Thomas Shelby arrived back home after having been abroad.

The house was being renovated and, surprisingly, when you walked inside you still noticed the suitcases at the front door.

But what you also noticed was a handsome stranger who had been dressed in black pants and a white undershirt, walking your way.

He must be Thomas Shelby, you thought, noticing how he looked exactly like the man on all of the paintings inside the house.

'So, you are Y/N then, eh?' Tommy asked as he began to assess you and immediately noticed your cross and your rather conservative Sunday outfight.

'I am indeed and you must be Mr Shelby' you observed before shaking his strong hand which felt warm and just slightly moist.

'That's correct Love' he smirked and you couldn't help but stare into his blue eyes for second or two while he gave you a rather intimidating look. He seemed to be intrigued by you, taken by your modesty and reluctance. It was almost like his eyes were fuelled with fire.
