Summary : All Tommy ever does is run.

Tommy isn't really sure of the feeling he gets when he sees your name on his phone for the fourth time that day.

It used to be a warm feeling in his chest, he'd grab for the device instantly just to hear your voice.

Lately it's been more a feeling of dread, of trying to avoid the calls, being distant when he finally feels bad and he picks up.

'So you just don't want to talk?' Is the message sat on his lock screen, he feels his heart tug for a moment but he can't give in.

The feeling when he opens his front door, you're stood there the London sunshine illuminating you from behind, you look tired.

His heart is pounding because he was so sure he wasn't in love with you but the sight of you in front of him, lip quivering as you try your hardest to hold back your emotions.

He's pulling you into the hall, still slightly shocked that you've travelled from Birmingham for him.

He's ashamed of himself ignoring you, trying to convince himself he felt nothing.

"You just left" you're stood leaning against the kitchen counter eyes locked with his.

"I got scared, we'd been spotted out in public" he knows he can't justify himself.

Tommy Shelby scared? Possibly the first time ever, but he knew he was putting you in danger by being by your side.

You let out a broken laugh, rolling your eyes "so you run to London and ignore me?"

He knows how bad he's hurt you but, he's certain he'd spend his life making it up to you.

After all, all he's ever done is run away but no one has ever chased after him until now, he's pretty sure he was having a hard time convincing himself it wasn't meant to be anyway.
