TW: mentions of the blip (what happens after death)
Lia
"You know you can't just finger fuck me and everything's okay, right?" Lia had since that happened put some clothes on and was sat on the sofa with Bucky.
She had text Lucas to apologise for wasting his time but the message didn't go through, she wouldn't blame him for blocking her after that. Contrary to popular belief Lia did have a heart and she felt incredibly bad for hurting Lucas but they did agree to no feelings. Not that it was a good justification.
"You know you can't just fuck someone else every time I disappear, right?" Lia rolled her eyes as Bucky smirked. Playing her at her own game was something he was fond of.
"Where were you?" His expression faltered, suddenly becoming a lot more serious and in turn worrying Lia. "You don't have to tell me. We aren't anything."
"I had a mission with Sam, some kids causing issues with politics." Lia normally avoided the news but she had seen the occasional headline of the "flag smashers". It was a stupid name of course and she definitely didn't try and look into it.
"The flag smashers?" Bucky nodded. "What's up with them?"
"When people were snapped they lost everything, life is a lot harder for them right now. They have nothing from the last five years, the flag smashes want to try and fix it. They're just doing it wrong. Fighting with their fists."
Lia pursed her lips, fiddling with the glove on Bucky's left arm. He was trying to get used to it a little more but he really did struggle on trusting himself around her with it. He needed to listen to his therapist more.
"I feel bad for people who got snapped, it didn't really hit me that hard. I never really spoke to my family anyways, was nice to have a break." She found herself smiling a little as she spoke, she did miss the blip a little. Her mother wasn't around to be annoying then.
"I was blipped." Now she felt bad. She went to open her mouth but Bucky beat her to it. "It was weird. Even when I was frozen I still knew I was alive but the blip was different. I just felt nothingness."
"I'm sorry Bucky." He smiled softly at her, silently telling her that she had nothing to be sorry for. "What were you saying about the flag smashers?"
The pair were thankful to go back to a mutual topic. Lia couldn't comment on something she didn't understand and showing empathy wasn't the easiest for her. She had always been a bit of a dark soul. Lack of love will really do that to someone.
"Karli wants justice, Sam and I are trying to help her but she won't listen to us. Then John fucking Walker sticks his fat nose in and ruins whatever progress we had made." Lia sniggered a little.
"Walker seems like an asshole." Bucky groaned, running his hands over his face.
"Understatement. That's where I was."
She felt stupid now. Here he was doing a duty to the country and she was just complaining about being ignored. What an idiot.
"I'm sorry. I thought you'd just-"
"Fucked and dumped?" Lia nodded, Bucky reaching his right hand out to hold hers in his. "You're worth more than that Lia."
