Bucky

The pair rushed out the restaurant, giggling and holding one another's hands tightly.

"Is that your parents?" Bucky stopped in his tracks to stare at them both, his hearing perking up to hear exactly what they were saying.

"Louise, you've got to let her be happy."

"She's fucking throwing her life away! With a fucking murderer Micheal! That man has killed so many people and his hands are all over our little girl, how can you be okay with this?"

Bucky's mood instantly changed. A murderer. That's all he ever would be.

Lia tugged on his hand, attempting to pull him away from the scenario that reminded her of her entire childhood. Sitting on the stairs and protecting her younger brother from the screaming was something she had become accustomed to. Not that she ever thought about him now, what's done is done.

"He's a good man Louise, he's worked hard. You cannot assume everyone is just going to hurt her." A smile tugged at the side of Bucky's lips at the comment, finding comfort in the fact that her father at least respected him.

"Ben is dead because of him. Because of them. You know it." Lia froze beside him, tears threatening to fall from her eyes. She wasn't sure how to react and neither was Bucky. Who was Ben?

"Ben is gone because of an accident. It's totally unrelated, you can't bring him up every time you do not get your own way." Lia's grip tightened around Bucky's hand, squeezing as tightly as she could to avoid getting upset about it. Ben would want her to be happy, no matter who it was with. She knew that.

"Ben is dead because of him!" Bucky's brows furrowed, confused by the accusation. He had never intentionally killed anyone named Ben but maybe he was collateral damage.

"Enough!" Lia let go of Bucky's hand and stormed over to her parents, tears falling down her face. "You do not get to speak about him to manipulate everyone. It's fucking disgusting. When you come to your senses you can speak to me, until then you can keep mine, Bucky's and Ben's name out of your dirty fucking mouth."

Louise scoffed in response to her daughter's words, feeling nothing but pure anger towards Lia. Lia didn't give her a chance to reply, only turned and walked away. She grabbed Bucky's hand and pulled him along, determined to tune out her mothers screams of protest from behind her. She was so sick of this shit.
