— Grace's POV —

Where the heck is Lily?!

I scribbled down on a piece of paper before shoving it to Emma sitting in front of me.

Like I know!

Emma stuffed the paper back at me with an equally annoyed face. I grumbled as I slumped down in my seat hopelessly.

"Sorry professor." A panting voice came from the door. Lily stood there, gasping, waiting for professor Winfrey to respond. "Ms. Evans. What a nice time to finally grace this class with your presence." the sarcasm was flowing off of his tongue. "Do you have a reason for your delay?" He asked judgmentally.

Lily stood there dumbly for a minute before replying. "Sorry professor Winfrey . I was helping Mr. Filch with a few disorientated portraits. I was on my way, and he looked like he needed help is all. I hope you don't mind an awful lot."

She sounded genuine, and ashamed, but I knew something was up. Lily was really embarrassed, I could tell. What's more is I have heard this excuse before. "I will pardon you this time Ms. Evans, but next time please let Mr. Filch do his job, and you can focus on getting to class on time." He finished the sentence with a smile, to make him seem nice.

Lily ducked her head as she sat next to me. I was still racking my brains about the excuse. Merlin! I know where it's from! It's from James! Merlin! I took the note and wrote down a message for her.

Lily! Merlin what happened to you?! And also do you recognize that excuse from somewhere? Because I do. James right. Awwwwww you crushing on him is soooo cute.

Aw shut up Grace. i couldn't care less. Let me write my will in peace.

Will?!

She tore a sheet from her book, and started to write: Final will and testament to Lily Evans, my witnesses being Grace Renoylds, and Emma Holman.

I raised an eyebrow before passing on the note to Emma, letting Lily continue writing her will.

Lily shut up and tell us. Grace stop her from writing her will, you sod!

I snatched the will from Lily's hand, and placed the note in her lap.

Okay. I woke up late, and was running down to get to class soon enough, when I stumbled into Carrie in the common room. She said she saw James and I the other night. I just told her I was late and ran off. I don't know why she hasn't told the whole school yet, but she definitely will sometime. So obviously, Saunders knows and she will ask James, and he doesn't remember, and that is the end of me. And I know Saunders just needs a reason to kill me, this is good enough for her.

I read it before passing to Emma

I'm shocked she had the decency to tell you first. Did she mention telling anyone else?

I don't think Lily stood around that long, and knowing Carrie, if she hasn't yet, she definitely is going to now.

Yeah.

Okay, you know what Lily? You just have to calm down, this conversation can wait till later, all of us need to pay attention.

I crumpled the note and stuffed it into my bag. I glanced at a very disorganised, worried Lily, and patted her arm, as if it would reassure her.

— Amos's POV —

"Lily! It's been so long! where have you been?" Lily who was walking slightly sullenly in front of me with Emma turned her head around, a little shocked. I stood in my place, and then folded my arms across my chest with a hurt expression. "Come on, it's not like you see me once in a life time, stop acting like you forgot how I look." I whined jokingly. Lily waited for a second, before breaking into a smile, which I can't tell is fake or not.
