Just an ordinary girl.

-- lily's POV --

Great. Just great.

I am on my way to the train station. To Hogwarts. For my 7th year. I am half an hour early, with my sister, Petunia. We don't talk much, or at all. In fact, we haven't for around seven years now. I am not in the least bothered any more. I'm way too busy contemplating how in the world I became Head Girl.

That's right. HEAD GIRL!

Seriously. What in the world was Dumbeldore thinking?!? Was he drunk or something when he chose? Had he placed the letter and badge in the wrong envelope? I am just this ordinary, bordering on slightly weird, dainty, common girl.

I am invisible in a crowd. I merge right in. Like a chameleon. I don't even like chameleons! Nobody ever notices me, and I like it that way. I am definitely not ready to be "the head girl" or "the gossip of the school." Or whatever else you became once you get the badge. I Lily Christine Evans am just an ordinary girl.

I cough, and Petunia gives me a death stare. I need to cough again, but i control it, trying not to hex her. She takes a sharp left, and my body jolts to the right, and I touch the witch, only to earn a disapproving snort from her.  I have to scramble back into my seat. I honestly reach out beneath my coat for my wand, but I see the station up ahead, and try to calm the blood boiling beneath my skin.

I  feel the car coming to a stop and can feel Petunia's glare on my back. We had reached the station. I look at the clock in the car, I still have 35 minutes! I sigh and go about gathering my stuff. I know Petunia is still glaring, clearly wanting to get rid of me as soon as possible, and she isn't trying to hide it. Obviously that means I take as long as possible to leave.

"Bye then" I mutter, not expecting her to hear what I said. I take my trunk and my owl out out of the back seat. "Hey Sirrul." I whisper to my owl, she is much friendlier then my sister but then again, most people are. I watch as she flaps around in her cage, her white feathers with black dots falling out of her cage. I slowly walk down to the platform, remembering the first time I came here...

(flashback)

I was alone, (obviously) and completely lost as to how I'm supposed to get to this platform of mine. The noise and bustle of the station unnerving me even more.

Great.

I am standing between the 9th and 10th platform, when I see this girl, with a small brown cat sitting on her trunks, runs straight into the wall and disappears. And right behind her, another girl. They all seem fairly older than me. Okay.....

If I am magical, then spells existed. I'm sure there is something over there that I can't see. (I was pretty smart for a little girl.) I walk up to the wall, and stare at it uneasily. I look around, and everyone is busy with their own business. So I walk into the wall, actually, kind of run straight through it. That was the easy part.

I run right through and dash into this girl, standing with an older woman who was probably her mother.

"Oh." the girl quickly turns around, and sees me standing there. "Oh Merlin, I'm so sorry." I quickly say before she even gets a good look at me. I am looking around my eyes darting around the new platform I had just reached. Everyone was with parents, and I notice cats, owls, toads. I boy runs past me as he chases... a rat!

The girl squints at me a little and then asks, "First year?" I stare a little blankly, and then guess, "Yeah..." Next to her stands a gruff boy with messy black hair. He is quiet, and doesn't seem to care about anything.

My eyes go back to the girl. She quickly scans the space around me and asks, "No parents?"

My face does this slow dip thing, and I swallow my tears(I missed them already! aww... 1st year me was adorable!) "Um no."
