The stupid Head boy

Yes! It is finally time for my tutoring. I was so excited the last half an hour I could barely stop wriggling on the sofa of the common room.

Grace, Emma, Moony, Padfoot, and I were talking. None of us seemed to know where Black and Potter had gone. I am not really that worried though, if anyone in this castle knew their way around, it is those two.

 Eventually, I reach the library.

I open the door, and step in, scanning the area around me. Mcgonagal said to be here at 8:00, I look up at the wall clock; 8:02. I wouldn't blame the Head boy for being a little late. As I turn back towards the room, my eye's swish by a familiar figure.

 James Potter.

Great. Just great. Why is he always where I am? What is he doing in the library anyways? Not like he really studied, definitely not on the first day of school.

I decide - as we were pretty much the only ones in the whole library - I might as well go talk to him.

As I walk up, I glance down at the books that were open on his desk. They were all transfiguration. He doesn't need to study transfiguration. I've seen him in class, he's a natural. Or maybe that's how he does it, I don't know.

"Hey Potter." I call out when I reach his desk. "Evens." he regards me with a smile. "Have you seen the head-" I freeze. Right there pinned to his robes is...

NO WAY! WHAT-? HE TOLD ME HE DIDN'T KNOW! HE - I...

I AM GOING TO KILL HIM!

I guess he saw the anger rise to my face as I open my mouth to scream, because he backed up in his chair. I lean in closer - he was going to get it from me.

"Potter." I say it slowly. I try to remain calm. Key word: try

"You're head boy! What the bloody Merlin? Why didn't you tell me you idiot? I swear I'll - " I am cut off by an angrier Madame Pince." Quite! This is a library, sit down or leave." I don't know why but I decide to sit and listen to the bloody idiot talk.

As soon as I sit down he starts talking. "Look Evans I'm so sorry. You weren't supposed to find out this way. I was going to tell you at the station, but you... I..- I didn't think it was the right time. Then today morning, Diggory came up, then... well... yeah..." He sounds genuinely sorry, but I don't buy it.

"Look Potter. I can sit here and listen to your excuses all day. But I won't buy them. Not even for a second." As soon as I hear the harsh, cold words leave my mouth I - I wanted to take them back. The look on Potters face turned from pleading, to almost crying.

"I'm actually sorry." He murmurs just loud enough for me to hear. For a second, I actually, genuinely, believe him. Then I remember all the lies he had ever said before and knew better. Even so, I knew I had already hurt him enough for a day.

Wait-what? Where did that come from? James Potter has been hurting me from forever that I can remember. I remember when I - You know what this is the wrong time to discuss my feelings. NO! I HAVE NO FEELINGS FOR THE CRAPPY POTTER! Merlin, no! I meant emotions! Oh Merlin, why life as head girl is so hard? Wait... life was always hard.

I slump in my chair from exhaustion, giving up. I didn't know if it was from being mean, or my stupid fee- err.... I mean emotions. But I guess Potter got the message that the fight was over.

I look over at him, and see him slowly sigh. "I guess since you're here anyways, we should just get on with it." I look over at him, still very tired, but since I really need the tutoring anyways, I didn't see why not. "yeah... I guess."
