Hogwarts, at last

1 week later

We got onto the train, and I saw Lily in the corner of my eye saying goodbye to her parents. I boarded the train with my sisters and sat in a separate compartment. I have enough of them at home. It wasn't empty though. Two boys inside it looked a year or two older than me. One of them, a mulatto boy with red hair, I recognized immediately as one of Liv's best friends. I think his name is Fred. It's George Weasley's son, he's named after his late uncle. Though the second boy, I knew he was a Weasley because he had red hair, but I didn't know who he was. Although I had to admit, for a boy at 12-13, he was drop-dead gorgeous. He had bright blue eyes and flaming iconic Weasley red hair, and he had freckles all across his face. But he didn't have the iconic Weasley face features. As someone who basically almost lives with the Weasleys, I didn't recognize him. I noticed that his features were a bit different, and he probably looked like his unknown mother rather than his Weasley father.

"Hi there", Fred greeted me.

"Hello", I answered. "Mind if I sit here? Everywhere else is full, and I don't really want to sit with my sisters", I chuckled. Also, it's a nice variation to be with other people I don't know, I thought to myself.

"Of course not! Come in", Fred answered, and I sat in the seat in front of them.

"Wait, you're one of the Greenfields?", the other boy asked.

"Yeah", I answered. "D'you know my sisters?"

"Not really, but Fred does, he's a friend of Olivia's, and he really fancies her", he answered.

"Rubbish! Why would I fancy a 13-year-old girl?", Fred laughed. "By the way, I'm–"

"Fred Weasley! George and Angelina Weasley's son, and Liv's best friend!", I was eager to say every last drop of knowledge Liv told me about him like I'm his biggest fan. He was really cool and awesome, as far as I heard from her.

"Good, I see you know me already! Mama, I'm famous!", his eyes shone with excitement. "Anyway... This is my cousin Louis. I think you already know he's a Weasley..." he pointed at Louis's hair.

"Yeah, I did... nice to meet you both. I'm Abby. Abigail", I shook their hands. As I already knew Fred from every angle, I turned to interview Louis. "Wait, so Louis, just interested... who are your parents? Neither of my sisters talked about you...", I picked up the courage to ask.

"My dad is Bill Weasley, the eldest brother, and my mum is Fleur Delacour."

Ohh, that makes so much sense now! His mother is a VEELA!!!

"Well, maybe your sisters didn't meet mine. You see, Victoire is my older sister-"

"Wait wait wait wait, Victoire Weasley is your sister??? How did I not see a resemblance!?", how could I be so close-minded?! "Victoire is Julie's best friend! I don't really remember much of her though because I was little when she used to come visit us."

"Really? Well, then, you know Vic. She was in Gryffindor, like me, but Dominique is in Hufflepuff and she's quite shy, so she only speaks to our cousins and a couple of friends from her own house. Well, now to me too", he smiled, showing off a dimple on each cheek. It was so cute!

"Nice! And what year are you guys?"

"I'm in 3rd and Lou is in 2nd. We have a couple of months difference though."

"That's nice!", I said, as a beautiful mulatto girl, about my age, with dark ginger curls opened the compartment, panicking, and threw herself on the seat next to Fred.

"I can't, Fred, I can't, I don't have the courage, I'm sorry. Je suis desolée, je ne peux pas le fair. Je suis très stressée-"

"Woah, Rox, easy! Louis taught you too much French I see", Fred answered, and I chuckled. Louis just rolled his eyes. Then he turned to me. "Well, Abby, this is Roxanne, my beautiful annoying little sister. She's starting her first year as well, and apparently, she also suffers badly from social anxiety", he presented her with a smile, squeezing the poor girl's shoulder. I laughed.

"Nice to meet you, Roxanne, I'm Abby Greenfield", I shook her hand.

"You too", she answered with a smile, trying to get off her brother's grip. "Fred! Let – me – go!", she pulled away from him and turned to sit next to me. "He's annoying!", she whispered.

"I heard that, love you too sis", he answered loudly.

"Are you kidding?", I answered Roxanne. "I'd die for an older brother! I only have 3 older sisters at home. No boys at all!"

"Really? But your dad counts..."

That was quite a sensitive topic for me, even though I don't remember Dad at all. I looked down saying nothing.

"Are you all right?", she asked.

"My dad... uh...", I stuttered, "he divorced my mum", I said quietly.

"Mon Dieu, je suis très desolé!", Louis gasped, and I chuckled dryly. It was quite funny to hear him speak French.

"I'm so sorry...", Roxanne said.

"That's okay, I don't have any contact with him anymore. He left us when I was 4, so I don't remember him. But still", I said firmly, "it's a thing I'd prefer not to discuss. Could we change the topic?", I asked, and my eyes laid upon Louis's. I realized now how blue and Delacour-y his eyes were. They were absolutely to drown in.

"Anything from the trolley, dears?", the Trolley Lady's voice brought me back to reality. I waited all summer just to get a Cauldron Cake. Liv said they are amazing.

"You guys want Cauldron Cakes?", I asked, my eyes sparkling.

"Why not? I love Cauldron Cakes!", Roxanne said, as I took 2 of them from the Trolley Lady.

"Thank you".

"You know what, Abby?", Louis suddenly said after a while, looking at me directly in the eyes. "I think you... you'll be great here at Hogwarts. We're going to be good friends." He smirked.

The confidence in his voice surprised me. "Yeah", I said, distracted. "I guess so. Thank you for that, I needed this".

When we arrived at last to Hogwarts, I excused myself to a distant corner and started to cry; I was so emotionally involved that it was the only thing I could do now. Someone put an arm around my shoulder, and I jumped, scared, but relieved that it was just my sister, Olivia, smiling quietly at me. I hugged her back.

"Amazingly enormous this place is, isn't it?", she said, brushing my strawberry-blonde hair. I nodded.

"You'll have so much fun here. I guarantee".

"Doesn't matter which house I'll be put in, right?", I asked, looking up at her.

She looked at me and chuckled.

"Of course not!" she smiled as she firmly grabbed my shoulders. "What matters most is that you need to be safe and happy here. Besides," She gestured to Amy to come to us, "if you don't find here any friends, which I think there's a hard chance for it to happen, you'll always have your sisters. Until 5th year". She hugged me tighter and pulled Amy towards us too; she hugged us too, and this time, from pure love for us and not reluctantly, which kind of surprised me.

"First year students", I heard a deep voice call, "Y'all gather 'round here, follow me!" When I looked over my shoulder to see who it was, I saw a giant man, with long, thick hair and beard, gesturing with his hand to all of the first years to go after him. "Is that-?" I stuttered, because I immediately recognized him.

"Yep," Olivia smirked, "Rubeus Hagrid in the flesh. Now go, follow him so you won't get lost nor late to the sorting ceremony!"

"RAVENCLAW!", the Sorting Hat shouted as soon as I put it on my head.

What?! Weird... well, at least Mum had been sorted into Ravenclaw. Not a bad house after all, I thought to myself, as I walked past the half-surprised, half-disappointed, half-proud Amy and Olivia.

"Hi", I said to the kids I sat next to at the Ravenclaw table. The boy wore a relatively round, thin-framed pair of glasses, and had chocolate-brown, both eyes, and hair. "Ed Pinsbull", he extended his hand, giving me a timid smile, but wide enough to show a dimple on each cheek. "Alicia Lightwood", the girl who sat at my other side, who had beautiful, long, blonde hair and dark brown eyes, said, grinning, extending her hand too. I shook both as I said, smiling, "Abby Greenfield. Nice to meet you!"
