"Come on, you promised after we got it down!" Daniela pleaded with a nervous Donna.

The girls were literally dragging her to a room right next to her work room, one she didn't use anymore.

It was a music room with many instruments, her father had been a doll maker like she was now but her mother preferred music so Donna picked up a bit.

She hoped the girls didn't actually got the sowing down because they succeeded in making her agree to show them how well she could play as they wanted to compare it with their mother's own playing.

The worst was Wendy was following behind, also curious.

"I-I don't think it i-is going to sound good tho." She tried excusing herself as the girls sat her in front of the piano and turned to flies only to appear sitting on top of it, sitting there and waiting.

"Come on it can't be that bad."

"Yeah you have nimble fingers from playing with your dolls, this can't be that hard."

"Mother always say you are better and how you learnt together before the Cadou so we wanna hear."

"Girls, if Donna doesn't feel like it she doesn't need too." Donna was grateful for Wendy trying to help

"But she promised!"

"Well what if I played something? I promise you never heard of it"

"I guess." Bela said as the others sighed but agreed, despite it all, knowing Donna won't be forced if she doesn't want to in her own home, they had been chased out in the cold by Angie once after all.

"Good. Angie pick that off the wall, if I can that it." She pointed to the violin and its bow on the high on the wall.

"S-sure." Donna nodded.

"Go get it yourself fatass!" Angie said but still did, dropping it in her hands but Wendy didn't seem bothered.

Donna watched how fast the wendigo tuned the violin up before offering her a wink.

(Imagine without piano, I can't find anything with purely violin.)

Donna found it mesmerizing how such a deadly creature could create such a beautiful and calming melody.

It was almost as if she heard the song somewhere and the cocky smile on the creature's face told her she should recognize it or at least think of the title but she couldn't, listening in silence with the girls.

There was no hesitation as she play, as if she had a lifetime of learning it but Donna wondered when did she really have time to learn, another mystery about her deadly guest she wished to unravel.

No matter how much she tried, she seemed to draw closer to the deadly creature, and a part of her feared that since everyone she ever loved always left, always.

Then again, the creature never left even when she could have and it was like Donna's mind was at war, two parts of her in a deadly fight.

Her logic, the knowledge, wielding her past experiences as a shield and her fear as a deadly spear.

Her emotions, the heart, wielding the promises made in blood as a shield and her want for a future as a deadly spear.

Both sides of her in a bloody, deadly battle, and seeing the creature who always exuded such an intimidating aura be soft and caring.

She knew with her strength she could easily snap the violin's various parts, she'd seen the aftermath of humans acquainting with her, the brutality, and yet she held the violin with great care of being gentle, probably suspecting how much it meant to her current owner.

She was snapped from her thought at the sisters rapid clapping, not even noticing the song had ended, it pulled her in so much.

She gaped softly.

"So? How was I?" Wendy asked.

"Wooooh!!!" Was all Cassandra said, arms in the air as if she was cheering for a sporting event.

"I wish I could play like that!" Bela complained.

"How did you learn?"

"I had time... And you? Liked it?" She asked again, it seemed to Donna that she really wanted her answer here, she gulped.

"B-beautiful." Was all she could say.

"SIMP!!!" Angie yelled before Wendy swatted at her with a laugh.

"Stop teasing Donna." Wendy shooed at her as the doll avoided her hands with ease, floating to the piano and sitting on it. "But thank you all, it has been a long while since I played voluntarily."

Donna was the only one to catch that, wondering who and why they forced her to play for them.

"So Donna, willing to play something with me?" The cocky smile was much softer when she spoke to her.

"I-I mean if you want." Unable to say no.

"Yay!!" The daughters cheered, getting what they wanted in the end.

"Well start, I'll follow, I promise." She made a cross on her chest but simply with her human finger and on her clothing, not doing that in front of the daughter. "Cross on my heart."

It reassured Donna, making her smile, thinking of a simple song she hoped Wendy had heard about or she felt it would be a disaster.

Her sudden worries were quickly eased as the violin picked up on the familiar song.

Donna didn't know why she chose this but it seemed adequate.

It was simple, nice and the piano wouldn't be the main lead in the song.

It was all muscle memory, no partitions.

She could almost see her mother and her practicing again and instead of bitter sadness this time it felt warm and welcoming to see such memory.

Donna glanced at Wendy but couldn't see her eyes through the holes, proving they were close.

She could listen to her play everyday until the end of her life she realized, it was not only how she killed but how she acted that drew her in.

And that's the moment Donna was sure she was done for, unable to escape her own heart.

That's when Donna knew she had lost the battle and now only one fear remained.
