Miranda was standing at the nurse's station with Callie when she saw him. She didn't know what it was about him, but whenever he came around her, her mind went blank, and her body responded.
It had been so long since she had anyone touch her; after her divorce, she was tired of men and all that came with it. She could keep up with it except for when it came to him.
Callie caught her staring, nudging her, "Bailey, just go talk to him."
The nudge knocked her out of her thoughts, and she clicked her teeth at Callie before walking away.
Rolling her eyes, Callie walked over to the handsome doctor and invited him to join them at the game night later that night. Miranda could yell at her about it later.
At the end of the day, Miranda was ready to have a drink and some fun at the game night. She was changing her shirt in the attending lounge when she heard someone clear their throat.
"Hi, Dr. Bailey." He spoke.
Turning around, she found the man who always made her feel tongue-tied.
"Dr. Warren," She replied, fixing her shirt.
In all reality, that's all she could ever say around him. The man was so fine, so confident. His smile was a thousand watts and always had a way of making her knees go weak.
She continued to pack up her things as she noticed him beginning to change his clothes. She absent-mindedly licked her lips and turned back around to her locker.
"Miranda! You ready for tonight?" Callie asked as she joined MIranda at her locker.
"Yes, today was so long. I just want a good drink and some fun."
"You need to get a good lay; that's what you need," Callie whispered, pointing her eyes over at Dr. Warren.
Scuffing, Miranda hit her and told her to be quiet. "Torres, I don't need a man; I just need a drink."
"No, you need some dick," Callie said dryly, causing Miranda to choke.
"Shut up, Callie!"
Miranda let out a breath, "You're lucky I'm even coming tonight; I have a delicious bottle of wine at home that has been calling my name."
Once Callie was done changing, they picked up their bags to leave. "Dr. Warren, will we still see you tonight?" Collie asked.
"Yes, thank you for the invite." He replied. He may have been talking to Callie, but his intense glance was on Miranda. She smiled back nervously. She was going to kill Callie. When did she even have the time to invite him?
He was now fully dressed in his outside clothes and looked to die for. He made his way over to them, and Miranda wasn't sure if it was his cologne, natural aroma, or a mixture of both that had her dizzy.
Once he closed the space between them, he finally spoke again. "I look forward to seeing you there."
Even though she wouldn't attempt it, game night with her friends was her favorite; she was competitive and enjoyed beating her friends.
The game night started so well, but this night was different as Miranda was on her toes. She knew that Dr. Warren would be making his appearance at any moment.
Once he finally arrived, he joined her friend group, meshing along like he'd known them for years.
While taking a break, Miranda went to get herself another drink. At the table, she ended up running into Dr. Warren.
