BEEP..BEEP..BEEP

The sound of the alarm clock buzzes in the morning as you groan. You slap the top of the clock multiple times until eventually it turns off. You sit up, rubbing your eyes and see a Protogen laying next to you, it's visor pitch black. You smile upon seeing it and nudge its shoulders. It wakes a few seconds later with a smile to you

"Morning cutie~" It says to you as you roll your eyes

"It's not summer anymore Sky, you know what that means" You say

The Protogen immediately sits up and says

"Back To School!"

The summer was over for you and this Protogen, but this wasn't an Unknown, this was your "friend" Sky, a Protogen you saved from a secret corporation during the summer, and now staying with you as a pet sort of. After all, she is a cybernetic dog. You get out of bed and stretch as you walk over to your drawer and pick out your regular school attire(whatever you wear to school). You look back at Sky as she unplugs a cord from behind her and follows you out of the room downstairs to the kitchen, where you see your uncle sipping some coffee and reading a newspaper, while your aunt had just finished making breakfast. You and Sky sit down at the table as your aunt comes with your breakfast

"Well look who's up bright and early for their first day of school today!" Your aunt says

"I know, it's Sky's first day coming to school, so I wanna make sure she has a great time there!" You respond in excitement

"I still don't understand why you gotta bring her to school with you Y/N. Doesn't she know everything since she's a computer or something?" Your uncle asks

You turn your head to Sky

"Well...technically yes sir" Sky responds

"What did I say about calling me sir Sky? You can call me Uncle Max just like ol' Y/N here has been for 17 years" Your uncle said

"I just got used to it" Sky responded

As you and Sky finished your meals, you both quickly grabbed your backpacks and rushed out the door to the bus stop, which was in front of a gas station not to far from your home. This walk couldn't have gone silent for the both of you, and one of you would break it eventually

"Are you excited Sky for your first day?" You ask

"Very much Y/N! I've heard many things about these "schools" humans go to, and how they provide knowledge for the young human mind. It excites me to go there in person Y/N!" Sky responded cheerfully

"Listen Sky, if you think school is too much for you, it's totally fine you stay at home from now on, no drama" You say

"Too much for me? Y/N we saved my species from mankind during the summer, I think school won't be much compared to it" Sky responds

"I'm just saying Sky, there's a lot to school that you don't know about"

"Like what?" Sky asks

"Well, it's not always learning in school. Sometimes people like to, you know, break the rules for fun" You respond

"Break the rules? But won't they get in trouble for that?" Sky asks

"They do, but they don't seem to learn their lesson. Not today, not tomorrow, not ever" You respond

"Well, I'll make sure no one lays a finger on you Y/N! I'm your Guardian Angel you hear me?" Sky asks

"Thanks Sky, I really appreciate it" You respond

Smiles grow on both your faces

You arrive to the bus stop and with 15 minutes to spare till the bus arrives. You and Sky sit down near a ledge on the sidewalk as cars come passing by left and right. You ignore the cars, but see Sky counting the cars silently to herself. You decide to ask her about it.
