I need her near me. Something in me is telling me to stay around her, and keep her around me.

Kelanis aura has become an attractant for me. I'm not gonna lie, it used to be a repellent. But only because of my trauma.

But for some reason, it's like she's an exception. I don't know if it's because she's Alaiyah's sister, and I feel like I owe it to her to look after her little sister, or if it's something else.

I brush my hand along her jaw, cupping her face with it.

I open my eyes to see her face again, I pull her in, she follows... and my phone rings.

"Fuck" I sigh.

She turns her head and laughs softly, brushes her curly hair strands behind her ear.

"Hello?" I answer the phone.

"Yeah- where you at. Did you find Kelani?" It's Ace.

"Oh shit, we uh- got caught in something. So we had to leave early."

"We? As in both of you left together" He asks.

I look up to Kelani and see her sitting back on the couch.

"Yeah, we're at my dads house right now"

Kelani looks up.

"Oh- ooohhh okay okay Mateo" he laughs cheekily.

"What? No bro not like that..." I begin.

"Nah I see you, it's all good I was waiting for you kids to get together, not gonna lie" he says as if through a smile.

"Ace- shut the fuck up it's not like that" I say trying to hold back a laugh.

I notice Kelani so I turn my back to her and continue.

"I just needed to see my dad about something"

"And that involved Kelani how? What even happened when you caught up to her?"

"Well I-"

"Did you hook up?" he interrupts.

"Ace..."

"I bet yous fucked in the elevator"

"..."

He gasps "you did!"

"No not exactly" I look over to Kelani, hiding a smirk.

"What does that mean?"

"Man just- where are you now?"

"Class just finished so I'm heading home."

"Alright we'll talk later I gotta go"

"Oh yeah my bad. I'll let you get back to busting a nut" he bursts into laughter that gets cut off as I end the phone.

I scoff with a smile as I put the phone back in my pocket.

"Everything alright?" Kelani says leaning her chin on the couch arm rest.

I turn around to face her.

"Ah yeah, that was just Ace being an idiot"

"Oh okay, he okay?"

"Yeah yeah he's fine. He was worried for you too by the way"

"Oh really?" Her eyes light up and she grins

"Yeah, he actually wanted me to go after you as well, he'd nudge me to check on you when you're head was down and when you left the room"

"Aw he's a sweetheart"
