Kelani
All I see are dim coloured shapes, and all of those shapes are blurred. I keep trying to rub my eyes, trying to focus my vision like I do in the morning, but it doesn't change. My heart is racing, pounding out of my chest, unsure of where to look.
Uncle Sam tries saying something but I can't hear him through all the panic or the blood that rushes to me head. Ace is still beside me, I hear his voice, then suddenly I hear Mateo, he comes by his side.
"Kelani" he urges, cupping my face. In the moment of panic I find myself holding his elbows, trying to find his face... but I can't seem to see it.
"Mateo- I can't see" I feel my tears wet my cheeks as they fall, and Mateos anxious breathing on the top of my nose.
I hear a short ruckus and something shine in my eyes in the matter of seconds. The shine isn't bright to cause me to blink, but there's definitely something there.
"She doesn't see it, we need to take her for scans. Now" the doctor rushes. My heart rate just continues to increase as I look around to try and find Uncle Sam, but me not being able to see him just makes me panic more.
The shapes start moving as well as the figures, and I realise I'm being rolled out of the room.
"Doctor- doctor? Please- why can't I see? Why can't I see?" I beg for answers as a gush of pain rushes to my head. A set of hands pull my shoulders down, laying me back. "We're just going to do some tests Kelani, you're okay" a female voice reassures me.
"We're putting you into a brain scanner right now, don't panic okay? Just a couple minutes" the voice retreats. I pin my eyes shut, at least this way I know it's because I'm choosing to block my vision. I try to slow my breathing, with my eyes shut, and let this scan do it's job, hoping by some miracle, this is just a random scare that will go away.

"Kelani... Kelani" a voice calls, and I feel myself regain consciousness that I didn't realise I had lost.
I'm about to open my eyes, but I'm afraid my vision would still be impaired. So I keep them shut.
"Hm" I groan as I try lifting my head that pounds.
"Kelani- it's me"
I soften my expression when I realise who it is. "Cherrie?"
"Yeah, yeah it's me" she says, as if through a relieved smile. "Won't you open your eyes?"
"There's no point is there" I say. She holds my hand, and I feel her pull whatever chair she's on closer to my bed. "Probably not. Ace told me everything. I'm so sorry Kelani"
"It is what it is" i scoff, "after everything you've found out, are you really surprised that something like this has happened to me"
"Kelani-"
"Cherrie, I'm really trying not to let this ruin me anymore than it already has. I'm trying to stay calm. Can we please not talk about it"
"Okay Kelani" she rubs her thumb over my hand "okay".
"Where is everyone?" I ask.
"Ace went to get us some breakfast, Sam went to run some errands, he's coming back with Gabriel and Isabella. And-"
"I don't care about him" I cut her off, knowing she's about to mention Mateo. I don't give a flying fuck where that man is at or what he's doing or who he's doing. I don't care.
