What a great Wednesday. November 23rd. It's been a week since my ankle surgery, I'm finally being discharged out of this fucking hospital after three damn weeks of being in and out.
And I fucking pray I don't have to come back. At least not for a long long time.
Now I've suffered a lot of injuries in my life, but never anything like two shattered ankles. I'm usually able to heal from my injuries after so many, but one time I shattered my hand and it took a long while to heal. I had one of my 'moments' and launched my fist into a brick wall, I shattered my hand. And I wasn't able to help any victims for a couple months.
It's a way I would self harm when I didn't want to use a razor. Alaiyah always gave me shit for it, but I'd still argue that it's a better alternative than playing fruit ninja on myself.
'They're both idiotic, Keke' Alaiyah says in my head.
Come to think of it, I haven't had the temptation to self harm since I started getting closer to Mateo. I guess he distracted me from my bad habits. I never realised until now.
He hasn't visited me at the hospital in the last week because he's been busy taking care of his assassination work and some 'personal projects', whatever that means. He and uncle Sam have been pretty close recently, Sam hasn't visited in the last week either, it's making me overthink about what they may be up to. But I'm just telling myself that they're doing some work for Gabriel together.
Mateo hand picked a couple of Gabriels men to stand by my door and look out for me when he can't be here. When I woke up that day, a week ago, Mateo was there and he told me he read the message that was sent to me, and that he won't let anyone near me.
He introduced me to guards he picks and asked if I was comfortable with them or if I wanted anyone else. But Tommy and Fin are alright. They're both doing good so far, they even keep me company with a little bit of conversation by the door. They refuse to come further in and sit by me because it's, quote, 'against mr Askades orders'.
He's probably still cut because I called them handsome and I never compliment him. Jealous bastard.
But how can I not compliment them, Tommy has a long wolf cut, and a charming smile, he's Japanese and his body is filled with the most beautiful body art. I could see the colourful traditional tattoos through his white button up when he took off his blazer. Then Fin has the bluest eyes and he has a dark tan, his facial structures is square but he makes it work.
But what Mateo doesn't know, and what I will never admit, is that I kept comparing them to him when I observed them.
'His smile is cute, but Mateos... his body is lean and muscular, but Mateos... his eyes are pretty, but Mateos...'
