It's been a few days since I spoke with Chesney because I have been so busy with the house I am working on. I need to see if she's available today since I have a little free time.

I wipe the sweat off of my forehead and pull my phone out and shoot her a text.

📱 Hey, Chesney it's Stone. I am sorry that I am just now getting back to you. Are you free anytime today?

I pulled my ham sandwich out of my lunch bucket and opened a Gatorade and sucked it down when my phone pinged.

📱 Hey Stone! It's ok I am still learning the ropes around here but sure I'm free if you can stop by the venue that would be great.

📱 I will see you soon!

I finished my sandwich and went back into the house and picked up my tools and threw them into my truck and headed over to Forever Fountain.

Why do I feel giddy to see her again? What in the hell is wrong with me?

I pull up and walk in and see Whitney right away and she smiles. "Hey, there cuz!"

"Hey! Is Chesney around? She knows I am coming."

"Yeah let me let her know that you are here." She said picking up a phone and talking into it.

I looked around at the inside at what needed to be fixed.

"You can go on back to the office she is waiting."

"Thanks, Whitney!" I smiled walking back to the office that I have been to a million times to talk to Hazel.

I walked to the door and lightly knocked and Chesney looked up and smiled when she saw me. She was eating some kind of cake.

"Hey Stone come on in I was just stuffing my face with cake."

"I can see that." I laughed sitting down across from her.

"Want some?" She asked.

"Nah I am good."

"So what's up Stone? Come to go over stuff or work?"

"Go over stuff. Think we could walk around and see what you want to fix right away or do you want to fix what your mom wanted to be done."

"I would rather us go over stuff and you tell me what needs to be fixed. I don't really trust her judgment."

I raised an eyebrow. "Ok, then we can do that. Let me grab a new worksheet and we can go over it."

When she stood up I was not prepared to see her in a tight short black skirt. I thought my dick was going to make its way out of my pants in seek of her hot body.

I cleared my throat and got out of there and went to my truck.

Stone my man get a grip and stop thinking with your dick.

When I turned around she was walking toward me and I swear she better not of heard me.

"Ready?" She smiled.

"Sure let's start here at the front. These doors needs replaced."

"I thought that Ok put it on the list."

"These steps are a hazard and you also need a railing."

"Ok add that."

"I have a guy that can paint because that needs it."

"Add it then." She said.

We walked around the buildings and where the bride and groom get dressed and even out to the archway and it all needs repaired.

"Is this going to cost me a boatload of money?"

"It will be but we can do it little by little over time so that it's, not one lump sum."

"I would appreciate that Stone because I have no idea what I am doing. I am shadowing Whitney this weekend for the wedding so I can get a feel of things."

We walked back to the arch and I looked up and shook my head. "I need to fix this right away because it may fall on the happy couple."

She gasped. "Really?"

"Yeah, your mom kept putting it off and it's been put off way too long. Do you mind if I ask what happened to her?"

She crossed her arms and I couldn't help but see her nice cleavage she had.

"I honestly don't know Stone and neither does Clay. She didn't really communicate with us and when my dad died it just got worse."

"Your mom talked about him a lot."

"We lost him when I was young and things just changed."

"Are you going to continue to stay at her place?"

"No, I ended up staying with Clay and will be living there until I can find myself a place. I can't stay there knowing she died there."

I couldn't help but laugh. "In the bed, I heard."

"Yeah, I won't be sleeping in that bed or in that room. The house will be sold."

"Wait you're going to sell it?"

"Yeah thinking about it and Whitney said she may be interested."

"That's a nice piece of property but where your brother Iives is nicer."

"You have done a fantastic job. I didn't even recognize where I grew up."

About that time the back door to the kitchen opened and a guy in a chef's hat motioned for Chesney to come over.

"I have cobbler!" He yelled.

"Be right there Dwight." She laughed.

"The chef?"

"Yeah, I told him I like cherry cobbler and ice cream. How about you Stone?"

"Sounds good to me."

"Then come join me for a piece and I will sign your paperwork and we can get started."

I couldn't say no to that so I followed her inside and to the kitchen and when I saw pretty boy Mr. Chef I knew he was a suck-up to Chesney.

"I need two slices please Dwight."

"Sure thing boss."

He slid the bowls over to us and went back to cleaning up.

Chesney held her spoon up. "Cheers!"

I laughed. "Never talked about a job over cobbler and ice cream before."

"Well, now you can say that you have Stone."

Fuck me the way she says my name. I would love to lay her across this counter and have her screaming my name.
