A couple of months later in the middle of the night, my phone rang.

☎️ Hello? Clay, what's wrong?
☎️ Sis we are at the hospital Whit's water broke.
☎️ Oh gosh is she ok?
☎️ She is but she is wanting you here. Can you come?
☎️ I wouldn't miss it. Let me get some clothes on and I will be there soon.
☎️ Thanks, sis!

I hung up the phone and got out of the bed and tiptoed to the bathroom and brushed my teeth and then grabbed some clothes to put on when Stone woke up.

"What's wrong Ches?"

"That was Clay and Whit is in labor and asking for me so I am going to go on down there ok?"

"Of course go. I can take care of Sadie. Just keep me updated ok?"

"You got it. I love you." I walked across the side of the bed and kissed his lips.

I got in my SUV and headed to the hospital. I wasn't in a hurry because I know sometimes it can take a long time.

I parked and walked inside and texted Clay and he told me what room to come to.

I sent a text to Bonnie to let her know because I am sure that Stone went back to sleep.

When I made it up to the room Whit was crying and I walked over and hugged her and then wet a wash rag under cold water and put it to her forehead.

When Nurse Kim came in and saw me she hugged me before checking Whit and she was already at five centimeters.

"Make sure you get the epidural because I didn't get that chance."

"Yeah, I want one of those I can't do this by myself and I am sorry I woke you up, Chesney."

"I would have been mad if you didn't." I smiled down at her.

Nurse Kim came back in with ice chips and we sit and laughed and talked until the pain was getting worse and she was checked again and she had jumped up to seven centimeters and they came in to administer an epidural.

It didn't take any time for her to get to ten centimeters and Clay was on one side and I was on the other side while she brings her baby into the world.

I updated Stone and Bonnie when I could but now that it was showtime I was focused on Whit and her needs.

She pushed and pushed and then needed some help at the end but ended up pushing Gunner out by 3 pm.

When Nurse Kim brought him back over I was a blubbering mess to see how much Gunner looked like Clay.

I took a couple of pictures so that I could send them to Stone.

📱 Gunner is here! 8lbs 6oz pass the picture along. Love you Stone.

📱 Oh he is cute. I will see you soon.
📱 Yeah after I get to hold him.

"He looks like me doesn't he sis?"

"Oh yeah, he does look like you. Sorry, Whit!"

She laughed. "It's okay as long as he is healthy I am ok with that."

"I am so glad I could be here for you and witness it Whit. Thank you for including me."

I watched my brother hold his baby and my heart was so happy.

It was finally my turn and I couldn't wait to hold the chunky monkey in my arms and kiss his little cheeks.

"Sadie is going to love bossing him around when she's a little older."

"I think they will be the best of friends." Whit smiled before passing out.

"Sis I am scared. I don't know how to take care of a baby.

"You will do just fine Clay. You are such a good uncle with Sadie."

"Yeah but this is different and I don't want to end up like her."

"Believe me. Between me, and Bonnie you will be just fine. I had the same fears at first. Because of that woman, I was afraid I would never be able to love someone and had to learn it all over but loving Stone was easy but Sadie was even easier."

"You make it look easy. Can I call you if I need you at two in the morning?"

"Of course Clay. You can call me anytime that you want. Now hold your son again. I have to get home to my family."

"Wait I don't know what to do!"

"Yes, you do. Just support his head and rock him and he will go to sleep and if your not sure get Nurse Kim just don't wake Whit she is one tired mama."

"I won't sis. Thank you for everything. I love you."

"I love you too Clay." I smiled and kissed his forehead before heading out to my SUV.

I made it home and heard my two laughing in the living room.

When I sit down on the couch Sadie threw up her arms. "Baby?"

"Oh, mama didn't bring the baby home it's Uncle Clay's baby." I laughed.

"I showed her the picture and she wants to see him so bad."

"Maybe if they are up to it tomorrow we will go visit Gunner. Can you say, Gunner Sadie?"

She put her fingers in her mouth smiling and said no and we both laughed.

"Are you hungry Ches?"

"Yeah, I could eat. Order a pizza?"

"Sure you do that and I will feed Sadie." He smiled picking her up and swinging her around before taking her to the kitchen.

I ordered a pizza and laid down on the couch and must have fallen asleep until I felt little fingers going up my nose.

I opened my eyes and Sadie was giggling. "Mama."

I pulled her into my arms and kissed her face all over. "I love you, Sadie."

"Cat!" She pointed.

I looked over and Cotton was laying on the back of the couch and he pounced down on my chest to be close to Sadie.

She giggled and stroked him down his back as he purred.
