Chesney Anderson didn't know anything about wedding venues or getting married but we had a venue in our family for generations. My mother ran it until she passed away unexpectedly and I was left to make people's wedding dreams come true.

This pregnancy has flown by and my body has changed so much and I love it. I haven't complained a bit and I love the baby bump even though I can barely see my feet.
We had a doctor's appointment yesterday and we got to see our little growing girl and I am now thirty weeks.
Not too much longer to go and I am so excited me meet our little girl.
I was going over the books at the venue when my phone rang.
☎️ Hello? ☎️ Hi Chesney! Its Bonnie and I wanted to invite you over this evening when you get off work and tell Whitney and your brother to come as well. Just a big dinner. ☎️ Sounds perfect! Do I need to tell Stone?" ☎️ No I will call him. See you after work ok? ☎️ Ok see you then bye.
I get up and walk out to reception and Whitney was on the phone so I went over to look outside and thought about the fountain and that I need to put a tablet in.
"What's up?" Whitney asked.
"Bonnie just called and said for all of us to come over after work she made dinner."
"Oh sounds perfect I will let Clay know." She smiled.
I walked outside and down to the fountain and it looked so beautiful. Even though my mother was a spiteful person she did have a beautiful venue that she was proud of.
I went to the building and grabbed a tablet and dropped it into the pond and when I walked back around the building a man was walking into the venue.
I walked inside and he was raising his voice and I wasn't sure what was going on.
Whitney was trying to explain things to him but I cut her off. "Can I help you?"
"I want to speak to Hazel and she's trying to tell me that she is dead."
"Sir she did pass away several months ago. I am her daughter can I help you with something?"
"Chesney?" He asked.
"Yeah, why don't you come to my office and we can talk about what seems to be the problem."
We walk to my office and he takes a seat and takes his hat off of his head and sighs.
"I am sorry to cause a ruckus. My name is JD and Hazel and I always got together when I come to town and she owes me money."
"Like friends get together or like sexual?"
"Both." He laughed.
"Why does she owe you money?"
"She promised to pay me for taking care of that fountain and I worked to maintain it and make it all nice and then she died and didn't pay me."
"Would it be written somewhere that she owes you money? Because I can't just give money out."
"I don't know she wrote it on a sticky note and put it in a leather book in the back."
I held up the ledger. "This?"
"Yeah maybe. So where is she buried and what happened to her?"
"Her urn is in the main room over the fireplace and I don't know what happened to her honestly. She wasn't sick but she just died in bed."
"She talked about you and your brother a lot and admitted she was a shit mother and that's why you guys didn't stick around."
"That's the first truth she spoke in a long time."
I flipped through the back of the ledger and saw JD and $400 on it.
"Did she owe you four hundred dollars?"
"Yes ma'am. I am the one who made it look nice. She wasn't taking care of it and it was green and overgrown."
"Well it looks great and I appreciate it so much. I will cut you a check."
"Would you like me to continue to take care of it or what?"
"No, my boyfriend has been maintaining it for me but thank you."
"Well, I am sorry to hear Hazel passed. She was nice to me."
"I am glad she was nice to someone." I wrote the check and handed it over to him.
"Thank you Chesney I appreciate it and good luck with the business. If you wouldn't mind I would like to go say bye to Hazel and I'll be on my way."
I just smiled at him and when he left I couldn't help but giggle a little bit. She was nice to someone and let them in that old bat cave.
My phone beeped.
📱 See you at moms in a little bit. 📱 I will be there. Love you Stone. 📱 I love you too Chesney.
I finished up what I needed to do and when Whitney walked into my office her eyes were big.
"That man was out there talking to the urn and crying."
"Yeah, she was his fling after he cleaned the fountain."
"I guess it was after hours because I have never seen him before." She shrugged.
"Are you ready to get to Bonnie's? I am hungry."
"Oh yeah, let's get going."
I grabbed my purse and headed out to my car and Whitney was right behind me.
We pulled up at Bonnie's and Stone and Clay's vehicles were there.
I got out and Whitney walked with me to the porch and when we walked inside we didn't see anyone.
"I bet they are outside grilling," Whitney said.
I opened the glass door and walked out and everyone yelled surprise and I almost pissed myself.
"What in the hell is going on?" I said grabbing my heart.
Stone laughed. "Sorry Ches but they wanted to surprise you with a baby shower."
"Oh gosh really?" I teared up.
"Of course, we wanted to have a baby shower for you and Dwight has even come to fix the food for us. Let's go get to the presents while the food is cooking." Bonnie said.
I was stunned. I have never had so many people love and care about me before and my hormones are out of wack and all I can do is cry.
