I was finishing up the changes to Hazel's house but also had been dragging my feet because I know that Clay is proposing to Whit and that is supposed to be happening soon.

After all the excitement over her SUV, we didn't talk much about the ring the other day.

I got finished and headed over to the venue to see my two favorite girls and when I closed the office door Ches smiled.

"Clay is on his way now to propose!"

"Oh good well, I can get her to walk out with me to get the name off of the container to order more tablets."

"Good idea!" She smiled.

I picked Sadie out of the bassinet and headed out front.

"Hey Whit can you do me a favor?"

"Sure what's up Stone?"

"Will you walk out to the shed with me? I need the name and UPC number off the tablet container so that you can order more."

"Of course." She smiled.

We walked out to the building and she wrote the name and UPC number down and then we walked over to the fountain.

I got a glimpse of Clay and so quickly I said "Is that a fish in there?"

"Oh my god where?" She looked over in the fountain and I just sorta stepped back while Clay walked up and got on one knee.

When she turned around she was shocked and she grabbed her chest.

I started to back away slowly and Chesney wasn't far off videoing.

I didn't want Sadie to ruin the moment so I walked over to Ches but didn't really hear what Clay was saying but I knew it was a yes when she jumped in his arms and kissed his face.

"We make a good team Mr. Travers."

"Yes, we do Mrs. Travers." I smiled and leaned down for a kiss.

We went back inside to give them space and when they come in Whit was smiling. "Did you really need that UPC?"

"I did." I laughed.

"Well let's see the ring." Chesney giggled.

"I am sure you already saw it."

"Oh, Whit I helped him pick it out." She smiled.

Clay walked over and took Sadie out of my arms. "I need to hold my little bunny."

"Of course you do." I smiled.

My phone rang and I saw it was mom so I answered it.

☎️ Hey mom!
☎️ Stone! Glad I caught you. I made a big dinner and wanted to invite you guys over.
☎️ Just say you want to see Sadie.
☎️ Oh yeah that too.
☎️ Well we have a lot to celebrate because Clay just proposed to Whit.
☎️ Oh fantastic! Tell them to come too and we will celebrate!
☎️ I will pass the message along to them since they are still here.
☎️ See you soon.
☎️ Ok mom soon!

"So mom wants us all to come over for dinner. We have some celebrating to do."

"That sounds great even though we all know she just wants to see Sadie." Chesney laughed.

"She admitted it Ches." I laughed.

We all loaded up in our cars and headed over to my parent's place and when we pulled in I went to get Sadie out of Chesney's suv.

"Wow, that's a nice set of wheels you got there Chesney." Dad grinned.

"Thank you, Alan! My wonderful husband bought me that." She smiled.

I carried Sadie inside and mom was waiting. "Give me my beautiful baby."

"I knew you didn't want to see us, mom." I laughed.

"I love seeing you Stone but this one melts my heart."

"I know just giving you grief mom." I smiled.

Everyone gathered around the table and mom had made pork chops and some sides.

"I hear congratulations are in order you two!" Dad smiled.

"Thanks, Alan! I was so surprised and your sneaky son was in on it." Whit laughed.

"If we are being honest it was all my idea." Chesney laughed.

"And then I stepped in to carry out the plan." I laughed taking a bite of mashed potatoes.

"Well thank you all for participating. Now I expect you all to be in or at the wedding." Whit pointed and laughed.

We finished eating and Clay helped me to clean up the kitchen while mom held Sadie and everyone else went out on the porch.

"I really appreciate all of your help and I was hoping you would be my best man Stone."

"Oh man, I would be honored, Clay!"

"Thanks, man I really appreciate that."

We finished the dishes and went to find the others when mom said she had dessert so I went back into the kitchen to get the rice crispy treats because she was not letting go of Sadie.

I walked back out with the sweets and mom was begging Chesney to let Sadie stay the night this weekend.

"I don't know Bonnie it's hard being without her."

"Come on we enjoy the little bunny here." Mom smiles.

"She will think about it, mom." I wink biting into my rice crispy treat.

"So I just asked Stone to be my best man." Clay said.

"Oh yay! I was going to ask Chesney but I hadn't got around to it yet."

"Well you know I would love to Whit and I will help you in any way that I can."

"I knew you would."

"And I know a really good venue." She laughed.

We stayed a little while later before we decided to head home. Needed to bathe Sadie and get her in bed before we can enjoy some alone time.

While Ches was bathing Sadie I got her night clothes and lotion and diaper laid out.

One of my favorite times of the night is when we put Sadie to bed. We just love her so much and I help Chesney dress her and then she nurses her and we sing her to sleep over the crib.

It doesn't matter if we sound horrible or not because Sadie just watches us with her bright blue eyes and smiles and that means everything.
