Christmas was just around the corner and I was still watching Harry like a hawk to make sure he is still alive. I’ve been doing this ever since the whole fiasco at the Quidditch match. Hermione and Ron now think very lowly of Snape but I still have my suspicions on Quirrell.

He’s been acting weirder and weirder every day. He won’t acknowledge me in class at all anymore. He ignores my presence just so he doesn’t have to look me in the eye, and it’s really getting on my nerves.

But I don’t say anything. If I did then they would want examples, and I wouldn’t be able to give examples without going into a back story about my dad who is supposed to be a secret to everyone and me so I would rather not.

Poor Harry though. It seems as though everyone has got it out for him. Snape had gotten meaner to him which doesn’t help his case. Draco is just being, well, Draco. Like in potions class he was talking, REALLY LOUDLY, with Crabbe and Goyle about the people who have to stay at Hogwarts since they aren’t wanted at home. He was pushing his luck there because, since of how protective I’m getting of harry, I was getting ready to connect my knuckles to his face, but Harry told me to ignore them like he was. It was hard though, considering I don’t get to go home either. Not that I’m too broken up about it, but it would be nice.

“Hi, Hagrid. Want any help?” Ron asked Hagrid as he lugged around a huge tree

“Nah, I’m alright, thanks, Ron”

“Would you mind moving out of the way?” Draco’s harsh voice called” Trying to earn some extra money, Weasley? Hoping to be a games keeper when you get out of Hogwarts, I suppose. That hut of Hagrid’s must seem like a palace compared to what your family is used to”

“At least he doesn’t live in some over expensive castle living life a spoiled pretty boy” I defended

“You think I’m pretty do you?” Draco got a cocky grin and winked at me

“You think way too highly of yourself. I’d rather look at a hippo butt than your face. Not that there’s much of a difference” I smiled, happy with myself as he glared at me

“Bloody American” He muttered. “Guess it’s no surprise why all three of you are staying here for Christmas. Your mum’s dead and your dad probably doesn’t want you around. Potters parents are both dead and Weasley probably doesn’t want to go back to sleeping in the front yard” And that was enough to set Ron off. He dived at Draco just as Snape was coming.

“WEASLEY!”

Ron dropped Draco from his grasp and it took everything in me not to laugh at Draco’s frightened face.

“He was provoked. Malfoy was insulting his family” Hagrid said

“Be at that may, fighting is against Hogwarts rules. Five points from Gryffindor, Weasley, be grateful it isn’t more. Move along, all of you” And the twit trio left, making sure they made a mess with the tree needles.

“I’ll get him. One of these days” Ron said through gritted teeth.

“I hate both of them. Malfoy and Snape” Harry muttered and I rolled my eyes

“Come on, cheer up. It’s nearly Christmas” Hagrid said. “Tell ye’ what. Come with me and see the great hall. Looks a treat”

“Ok” Harry looked to me

“I have to go to the library. You guys go on ahead” I said and made my route the other way. I would often go to the library when my curiosity was running wild. It was a good outlet. I would just grab some random book and start reading. Most were books of spells and I would take it back to my room and try them out.
