I pushed my way through the small huddled crowd to get to the pinned up notice. When I made my way to the front there was a decorative notice that explained there would be a dueling club and the first one would be tonight. I smiled and pushed my way back out at the sight of my friends coming this way.
"Could be useful. Shall we go?" I heard Hermione say
"Of course we're going!" I said loudly and they laughed. I led them to the black lake by skipping around and rambling about nothing in particular.
"Someone is feeling better" Harry muttered with a smile
"I almost like her better when she was bed ridden" Ron chuckled
"You both are just party poopers because you almost got caught by Snape and I had to save the day" I rolled my eyes and lied on the cold grass. It was an oddly nice for winter. Harry said it had something to do with my good attitude but it's not like I change the weather that much. I can't make it snow in June.
I watched the grey sky flow past me overhead. It was quite beautiful and I didn't know why. It was always a strange trait of mine. Loving the look of misty skies and dead trees. Don't get me wrong, I love blue skies and green grass but it doesn't have the same comfort as the first.
Dark skies always remind me of the music that I listened to when I was back in America. I missed my old and small mp3 player that I was given for my ninth birthday in the mail from Mr. Williams and it was filled with songs. It was the oddest thing to get mail at the orphanage so I always hid it from Miss Helen in a special pocket in my purse.
I sat straight up.
My purse!
I jumped to my feet and said, "I'm going to go play with Bert before we leave tonight", and ran off towards the castle. I don't know where the sudden burst of energy came from but I ran all the way to my room without a bead of sweat. Percy didn't appreciate my adrenalin though.
I closed the door behind me and dove under the four column bed where my purse lies. I dug through the miscellaneous objects that filled my purse's interior until I got to a secret pocket close to the bottom and unzipped it. I felt around and smiled as my fingers brushed against ear buds in the midst of candy wrappers. I stuck them in my ears and pressed the circular button that had a sideways triangle.
'I'm unaware of too many things. I know what I know if you know what I mean'
Music rung from the small plastic in my ears. I was as awesome as I remember it. I giggled with happiness and pulled Bert out of his cage. I let him crawl around on my stomach and the floor. I sang softly to him when he became tired. He finally became sound asleep and I then noticed that it was time to leave. I put him in his cage and left.
"Gather round! Gather round" Once his voice hit my ears I immediately wanted to turn back but Harry pulled me to the spot that they were standing in. I watched but I did not listen. There was something about his insensitive and cocky smile that made me sick. Though, when Snape came on stage, my attention was immediately on stage.
Lockhart bowed to Snape while he only nodded his head with distaste. I held my breath as they waved their wands to the ready mark and prayed that Snape would finish off Lockhart or at least injure him a lot so he wouldn't teach anymore.
Snape didn't do what I had hoped, though. He only disarmed Lockhart. He did seem pretty upset and then slit us up into partners so we could have some fun. I was chosen to face Pansy in all her fake glory and price. Pfft! It was obvious on how much she feared me.
"Three!" Lock hart shouted but Pansy had no intentions of just using disarming.
"Tarantallegra" Pansy shouted at me but missed from her trembling wand. I glared at her and then decided to do something tricky. It was something that Narcissa taught me over the summer but I wasn't quite mastered at it but now was the time to try.
