Astoria Malfoy (nee. Greengrass) looked out her window of the Malfoy Manor with such unexplainable love for the day ahead. She remembered her past, to the day 25 years ago, or to most, she had to reply 23 years ago.

She was proud that her son, one and only child, was about to take the train to the place she had once loved as a home. She had gone to Diagon Alley with him just to prepare for this moment. It almost made her tear up to know her little boy was leaving soon.

In fact, she was tearing up right then

“He’ll be back on the Holidays” A loving voice said into her ear. She looked up at Draco with a smile. She knew this was true, but there was something about letting your only child go off to Hogwarts where you won’t see them for months.

“I know”

“And he’ll have lots of fun there too. You remember”

“What if he gets bullied?”

“Who would want to bully a Malfoy?” Draco chuckled

“What if he turns into a bully!”

“We’ll talk to him before he leaves on the train. Whoa! Look at the time! We should get going” He pat her shoulders and set off to get their coats.

Astoria traveled up the stairs to the bedroom of her son, where she knew he would be. She knocked softly on the door and herd her son’s strong voice say “Come in”. She smiled and opened the door to see her son sigh with relief.

“Thank goodness it’s you” She smiled half-heartedly, knowing his fear of his father. Draco always reminded her of Lucious. She thought back to just a few weeks ago when Draco had finally realized the same thing, and ended up breaking down and crying.

“You know your father is trying, right?”

“It doesn’t feel like he is”

“That’s not true” Astoria said and sat down next to him at his window seat. “He took you to the Quidditch World Cup, remember?”

“Yeah, I guess that was fun, but that seems to be all he cares about lately. Maybe I don’t want to play Quidditch” He seemed upset so she put her arms around him.

“You get that from me” Astoria nodded. “Your father will only be disappointed if you don’t try out for Quidditch. Disappointment doesn’t last forever, but you may find you like Quidditch. Flying came very easily to me, even though I didn’t play. Plus, your father happened to be the second best seeker at the time”

“Second?”

“Well, there’ll always be a natural talent, but maybe this time, it’ll be you”

“Do you think so?”

“Oh yes, very sure” She said. “Now, get your bags, your father wants to get there early and not have to deal with the muggles”
