Chapter 14

I sat by myself in the middle of the yard, contemplating the meet up with Draco. I wanted to forget about it so desperately, but it was almost imposible. I wasn't supposed to be here. I was supposed to be in the great hall, eating dinner. Or outside Lockhart's room, waiting for Harry's detention to end so we could meet up with Ron and Hermione.

A small garden snake slithered up next to me. I looked down at it and smiled a little. It almost seemed like the snake was looking back at me.

"Hello little snake" I said to it

"Hello"

I looked around but I was the only one in the yard. I looked at the snake skeptically but then shook my head.

Snakes can't talk Victoria.

"Maybe I need some sleep" I told the snake with a chuckle

"Why is that?"

I gasped and backed away from the snake a few feet.

"C-c-can you talk?" I asked incredulously

"No, but you can" It hissed

"What?"

"You are one human to speak my language"

"I'm speaking a different language?"

"Yes"

"How do you know so much?"

"A snake can hear a lot when it goes unnoticed"

"Weird"

"It's getting darker and colder. I must go"

"You and me both" I said and ran off to meet up with Harry, Hermione, and Ron

The accuses, the voices, the blood. Oh the blood. Dripping from the walls like it owned them. The violent lurching in my stomach and the pale eyes on Mrs. Norris.

"You should go to the hospital wing" Hermione said

"Why" I sighed

"Because you haven't gotten out of bed other than to go to class, you're sweating a lot, and this is the first that you're talking to me in days" She was all dressed up for the day, looking healthy but tired. She's been up late at night trying to find out more about that Chamber of Secrets.

"I'm fine" I said and tried to get up but I instead collapsed on the floor. My heart beat increased rapidly with each drop of sweat.

"Victoria!" She pulled me to my feet

"I'm fine"

"No! You're not fine! I'm taking you to Madam Pomfrey right now!" She pulled me out of the room with me stumbling.

"I'm fine" I repeated

"Harry! Ron!" Hermione yelled

"I'm fine" I waved them off but Hermione kept a firm grip on me

"Help me get her to the hospital wing" Hermione yelled. Harry and Ron ran to my aid like I had just been shot. They rushed me down the halls but in their hurry, I fainted.

I slept for days and the first thing I woke up to was Hermione watching me carefully. I tried to sit up but found that I was very weak and tired.

"What time is it?" I asked halfheartedly

"It's 9:00p.m"She answered quietly but seemed to be eager to say more

"Alright, spill"

"Well, we found out that the Chamber of Secrets was created by Salazar Slytherin to kill the muggle born students, and only his descendent can open the chamber. There's a rumor going around that Harry is the heir of Slytherin which is the descendent of Salazar, but he thinks that it's Draco" She said in a rush.
