Finally, all of the exams were now over and there was no more to study for, but that did bring me to a realization that I would have to go home and spend time with Quirrell which I strongly dislike right about now. I walked out with Harry, Ron, and Hermione who looked about just as relieved as I was.

“That was far easier than I thought. I needn’t have learned 1637 Werewolf codes of conduct or the uprising of Elfric the Eager” Hermione sighed

“I’m going to go up to our room. I’m pooped from all those tests” I said, rubbing my temples

“Ok, we’ll see you later” Harry said reluctantly and I left them as they wondered off to the black lake.

I continued walking until I quickly turned at a corner and there was Quirrell. He had a sort of twisted grin on his face as he walked towards me in a deathly stride. I stepped back with each step he took. My breath quickened as well as did my heart.

“Hello, Victoria” Quirrell said, stutterless

“Hello, Professor” I said weakly

“Goodnight, Victoria” He whispered and before I could even gasp, he waved his wand across his body and muttered a few words. And…

I groaned in pain from my back that felt like I had been sleeping on stone. My eyes split open and I tried to sit up but there was a charm on my neck that was like and invisible rope. The charm was on my arms, legs, and stomach. I looked around and saw we were in a large room that seemed to be underground. I say we because Professor Quirrell was standing in front of the Mirror of Erised, talking to himself.

“HELP!” I screamed and Quirrell briskly turned to me with a glare

“We are trying to help you” He said coldly and turned back to the mirror

“You!” I heard Harry gasp and turned to see him at the door.

“Yes. I wondered if I’d be seeing you here, Potter” Quirrell said calmly. I would have yelled for Harry to run away, but every time I tried, the rope around my neck got tighter

“But I thought- Snape-“

“Severus? Yes, Severus does seem the type, doesn’t he? So nice to have him swooping around like an overgrown bat. Next to him, who would suspect p-p-poor s-s-stuttering P-P-Professor Quirrell?”

“But Snape tried to kill me!”

“No, no, no. I tried to kill you. Your friend Miss Granger knocked me over when she rushed to set fire to Snape at the Quidditch match. She broke my eye contact with you. A few more seconds and I would have gotten you off that broom. I’d have managed it before if Snape hadn’t been muttering his little counter curses, trying to save you”

“Snape was trying to save me?”

I tried getting up but the rope around my stomach got tighter and it became difficult to breath. “Leave, Harry” was all I was able to yelp before once again…

“Alas, earwax” Professor Dumbledore said after he chewed the every flavored bean

“Thank you, Sir. For helping me”

“It was my honor, Mister Potter. You should be happy how little you were injured. Some were not so lucky” His eyes wandered to the bed next to mine. I looked over and widened my eyes at Victoria lying there. She was surrounded by more candy and flowers than me. I had almost forgotten when I saw her in the dungeon.
