Thomas was now nearing Knapford station. Ryder had already told the pups what was going on and to meet the rest of them once they reached the station. Thomas puffed into the big station and stopped on platform 2. Toby the tram engine was there with his faithful coach, Henrietta. He looked over at Thomas as he stopped alongside the brown tram engine.
"Hello, Thomas, " The friendly tram engine greeted. "What brings you here?"
Thomas smiled at Toby. He knew if something was wrong, Toby was there to make things better.
"Hello, Toby. Are you busy at the moment?" The blue tank engine asked.
"No. Why?"
"Well, I have some visitors on board with me, and they said they would like to get a tour around the island. I thought you and Henrietta would be up for the job."
Ryder, Chase, and Zuma hopped out of Thomas' cab and walked onto the platform beside the blue tank engine and stared at the brown tram engine. Toby thought about the idea and smiled.
"That sounds like a great idea." Toby said happily.
"Great! But before you take off, do you know where that new controller is?"
"No. What happened?"
Thomas told Toby all about Mayor Humdinger and his most recent unfavorable deeds.
"Well, I'd never! Sir Topham Hatt won't be happy to hear this. Poor Emily. Poor Donald and Douglas."
"I know. If only Sir Topham Hatt was here to put things right."
Just then, the rest of the PAW Patrol arrived in their vehicles. They hopped out and ran towards Ryder.
"What did you call us for, Ryder?" Rocky asked.
"Well, Ryder started. "From what me and Chase have seen, I thought we could use a tour around this island since this place is full of attractions."
"Pawsome!" Marshall cheered. "But what will we travel on?"
Ryder turned and looked at the brown tram engine. "Why, on that steam tram of course."
The pups gazed at the brown tram engine with awe. They had never seen a steam tram before. He had a brown coat of paint and a yellow number seven on his side and a shiny bell on top of his cab.
"Please, Ryder," Skye asked excitedly. "Please tell us we could get a chance to ride on that?"
"Why, of course, Skye. We all get to ride on...I'm sorry, what's your name again?" Ryder questioned, clearly puzzled.
Toby chuckled. "My name's Toby."
The pups started to howl and jump up and down in excitement.
"Alright. All aboard." The tram engine said as Ryder and the pups all climbed into Henrietta.
Thomas was still unsure of Toby running into Mayor Humdinger.
"Keep an eye out for that new controller, or Mayor Humdinger, for that matter." Thomas cautioned.
Toby looked at his friend with certainty. "I will, Thomas. I've met a lot of people who have a few tricks up their sleeves."
"Are you sure? Ryder says he's known for doing mischievous schemes. He's already got a strike on Emily and James. Please be careful, Toby."
"Don't worry, Thomas, Humdinger won't think twice about going against me. He thinks I'm just as useless as any other engine on this island." Toby reassured his friend with a confident smile.
"Okay. If you say so." Thomas said anxiously, still worried about the tram engine trying to pass the mayor safely.
Toby rang his bell before leaving the station, slowly starting his journey on Thomas' branch line. While down the line, Humdinger and his kittens were standing by some fence that was sitting by the track with a sack full of kitten feces. He was planning to get revenge on Thomas for teaming up with James and taking Emily's side.
"Whenever that blue tank engine comes by, we'll throw a piece of this excreta at him. That'll show him for disobeying my orders." Mayor Humdinger said as he laughed menacingly.
The kittens sniggered along with him as they exchanged mischievous looks. After some time, Humdinger was looking inside the sack of feces, counting how many pieces of excreta while holding his breath, not trying to smell the foul smell that was coming from inside the sack. As the mayor was having his head into the sack, Cat Chase saw Toby coming slowly down the track. Alarmed by the sight, Cat Chase tried to get Mayor Humdinger's attention by tapping on his shoulder.
"Not now, kitty, I'm counting." He said arrogantly.
Toby was inching closer and closer and caught sight of the horrid mayor and his kittens. Now, all of the kittens were tapping both of the mayor's shoulders repeatedly in a panicky manner. The mayor, who was now getting tired of the constant pokes on his shoulders, turned to his kittens furiously.
"What could you possibly want now?! Can't you see that I'm-"
Before they knew it, Toby rang his bell, catching the mayor off guard and scaring him, making him jump and throw the sack of feces up in the air and letting the feces fall out of the sack and landing on Mayor Humdinger and the kitty Catastrophe Crew, making the steam tram chuckle as he passed by. Humdinger, who now noticed that he was covered in his own kittens' feces, fumed in anger.
"I'm going to send you to the scrapyards like I did with Donald!" the horrid mayor shouted, raising his fist at the brown steam tram. Toby only smirked and rolled his eyes.
The pups, who were riding in Henrietta, saw the whole thing happen and fell onto their backs, bursting into laughter. Toby could hear the laughter coming from inside Henrietta and chuckled along with them and so did Henrietta. Toby took them to see the engines working at Ffarquhar Quarry, which was at the end of Thomas' branchline. After they were done trundling along the little engine's branchline, Toby took the team down at Wellsworth, which was also known as the start of Edward's branchline, and the line ended down at Brendam Docks. Then, Toby took the team down to Arlesburgh West. The team were surprised to see engines that were from the Great Western Railway like Duck and Oliver and the miniature engines Mike, Rex, and Bert. As they continued their journey, Toby noticed that there were diesel engines that had supposedly returned like Derek and Splatter and Dodge. The tram engine became suspicious as he puffed past the diesels. He had no idea that even BoCo had returned to the island. At the end of the day, Toby had taken the team to all of the locations the island had to offer. The PAW Patrol soon told Toby to drop them off by the docks.
"Well, here we are; Brendam docks." Toby said.
The PAW Patrol climbed out of Henrietta and set foot on the island's port. They were awestruck at the setting of the sun setting over the blue ocean.
"It's so beautiful." Skye whispered.
Cranky, who just got done unloading a ship, noticed the ten-year-old boy and his pups.
"That's strange. I don't remember any visitors coming to the island. Or do I?" The big crane said to himself as he glanced down at the group beside the brown tram engine and then gazed around the port below him.
"I'll be off to my shed now. Hope we get to meet again soon." The brown tram engine said before ringing his bell and leaving the docks. The ten-year-old boy and the pups waved goodbye to the brown tram engine as Toby left.
"Well, pups, looks like we'll call it a day." Ryder told them as they walked over to the Sea Patroller and went inside to get some sleep.
