It didn't take long for Sir Topham Hatt to find Mayor Humdinger. The mayor was in the shunting yards beside Knapford station. He had given out tickets to multiple engines for any reason he could think of. The mayor was talking to a workman about senseless tasks that were given.
"I don't know if I can do it." The workman said with uncertainty.
"Well, you better find out how to do it! This is very important to me!"
The workman rolled his eyes. "Whatever you say, sir."
And the workman walked away.
"It would be a lot better if Topham was still here." He murmured. Humdinger was close enough to hear it.
"What's that? You wish Topham was here? Well, good luck with that! It's not like he's going to appear right here in this yard!"
"As you were saying."
Mayor Humdinger froze upon hearing the voice. He slowly looked behind him and couldn't believe it. There stood Sir Topham Hatt looking cross. The workman saw Sir Topham Hatt and alerted other workmen around the shunting yard watching the two figures, looking pleased as ever. Humdinger, however, was far from pleased.
"What are YOU doing here?! You're supposed to be behind bars!"
"Am I?" The Fat Controller asked smugly. "If that's the case, I just got released."
"This is impossible! How in the world did you get out?!"
"With a little help from us." A voice said.
Mayor Humdinger knew that voice belonged to a certain ten-year-old boy and glanced at his left side and there stood the PAW Patrol. He glared at the rescue team.
"Why, you pathetic lot!" The mayor thundered, taking a step toward the rescue team. "I ought to give all of you more than one ticket for sneaking on the island without me knowing and sabotaging my plans!"
"Did it have anything to do with telling lies?" The Fat Controller inquired.
"It's none of your business, Topham!"
"Giving out misinformation on my railway has every right to be my business."
"You mean MY railway!"
Sir Topham Hatt rolled his eyes. The mayor dropped his attitude and began to get scornful with the former controller. He was not giving up his position that easily.
"Sorry about that, Topham. How about we settle this over some tea and crumpets?" Mayor Humdinger offered snidely.
"No, I'd rather settle this now." The Fat Controller answered firmly.
"Oh, please, I can do a better job than you, I really can!"
"If that's true, why are there so many grumpy passengers on the telephone?"
"They're just being- wait, how did you get such information?"
"I answered it and they told me, which shows me how inefficient you really are."
"You answered my telephone?! I ought to give you two tickets for not only being released from prison, but stepping into my office and touching a valuable piece of my possessions!"
"How original." Chase whispered to Marshall and Zuma, rolling his eyes.
"Keep your blasted tickets to yourself and your pesky felines!"
Thomas was in the yard and saw what was happening. He quickly raced away unnoticed to tell the others.
"Speaking of being inefficient, everyone on the island has failed to meet their demands. Does that bring any news to you?"
