Seize on Sodor - Thomas the Tank Engine & PAW Patrol Crossover

Chapter 24: Preparation

As Mayor Humdinger began to manipulate every engine he could find, Thomas and the PAW Patrol were out on the little blue engine's branchline. They met Mavis the diesel shunter at Ffarquhar Quarry along with Arry and Bert. After that, Thomas took them on Duck's branchline to see Oliver. The pups had already chosen which engines were their favorites. Zuma liked Emily, Chase liked Oliver, Marshall liked Henry, Skye liked Harold, Rubble liked Harvey, Rocky liked BoCo, and Ryder liked Thomas. But as he puffed from one place to another, he couldn't help but feel he was being watched by Humdinger. He had heard of Mayor Humdinger's most recent mischief. He even saw Timothy pulling that train full of rubbish to the dump.

The blue tank engine was trying to forget about what Humdinger had said and pulled into Brendam docks. He was about to speak when he spotted Mayor Humdinger speaking to a workman. Thomas quickly reversed back into the shade of the dock's shed.

"What's the matter, Thomas?" Bob, his driver, asked.

"It's Humdinger," Thomas responded at an alarming rate. "He's right in front of us."

"Aw, great."

"What do we do?"

"I'd say we better make a run for it."

"Good idea."

And Thomas reversed out of the docks. They didn't stop until they got back to his berth. Ryder and the pups hopped out of the blue tank engine's cab and walked in front of him.

"I'm sorry, but I can't risk being caught out of my shed." Thomas told them.

"But we told you we would keep you safe." Ryder replied.

"I know. But that's all I can give you. You'll have to go without me."

Ryder and the pups didn't want to leave, but were grateful for what they got. They gave the blue tank engine a hug before they left.

Later that night, Ryder and the pups began to make a plan for the Fat Controller's release the next day. They would have to rescue Donald, the other Caledonian twin, from the scrapyard first before going to the Steamworks for the evidence, and then taking the evidence to the Warden so they can release the Fat Controller and he can expose Humdinger for what he did and give him a few stern words.

"Are you sure this will work?" Rocky quizzed doubtfully.

"It'll have to." Ryder replied with a grave expression.

"What if Humdinger catches on with our plan?"

Ryder went silent before speaking up. "He won't. Even if he does, he'll be behind bars again before he can do anything about it."

The ten-year-old boy and the pups exchanged stern looks.

"Tomorrow is the day when justice is served."

"Yes sir, Ryder!" The pups replied in unison.

And with that, Ryder and the pups went to bed and fell fast asleep.
