Mayor Humdinger felt proud of himself as he traveled beside the main line on his purple kitty carrier. He would use his new blue car but still he preferred his old kitty mobile that he and his kittens cherished very much. The mayor groaned as he was getting bored riding on anything but rails. He did use Winston at one point but eventually grew tired of his jerking ways. He laid eyes on the nearby rails and smirked. He moved his joystick to the left and the purple kitty carrier jumped on one of the tracks.

He smiled proudly. "This is much better than riding on bumpy old gravel."

But the ride didn't last long as he heard a whistle in the distance and laid eyes on what was ahead of him. There was Gordon thundering down the same line, pulling the express and going the opposite direction. The big blue engine soon caught sight of Humdinger and blew his whistle to communicate with him to try and get him off the rails. The mayor tried to get his kitty carrier off the rails as he kept jerking his joystick back and forth. Finally, the mayor managed to get out of the way just before the two collided.

Humdinger looked back and scowled. "Fine! Keep your rails all to yourselves!"

Gordon rolled his eyes. "This would never happen if the Fat Controller was still in charge."

Mayor Humdinger was still feeling proud of himself as he made his way toward Tidmouth station. He was wanting to keep his dominant streak as he peered in the distance for any other engines to keep in order. He would get his chance once he drove near Tidmouth station and saw Duck coupled up to some coaches. The green pannier tank engine was taking some passengers to Tidmouth Hault to enjoy the seaside. He was patiently waiting for the guard to blow his whistle and wave his green flag as he noticed a small purple figure driving up to him. As the purple figure was starting to appear clear enough, Duck frowned at who he saw in front of him. The mayor hopped off his purple kitty mobile once he came to a stop near the platform.

"Good morning, Duck." He greeted.

"Hello, criminal." Duck replied scornfully.

Mayor Humdinger repressed his urge to snap at the green pannier tank engine and continued his lecture.

"I don't know what makes you think that, but I'm sure you're aware that-"

"-That I'm aware of what you've done to Emily? Yes, everyone on this island is aware of what you did. I'm surprised that you're still on the island after everything you caused, you disgraceful brute."

Mayor Humdinger was now having a hard time keeping his composure in check.

"Let me tell you something, Duck-"

"No, let me tell YOU something, I met some real nasty fellow beings back in my early days, but you have to be the most appalling out of all of them, considering the fact you sent one of our engines for scrap. Now Douglas will have twice the weight of what he and Donald pulled, especially since he also has to manage main line work such as freight and passengers. Oliver and I have to help him with his work, making us late with our own work. Then, we have to hear from you saying that it's our fault, when in reality, we could've done a much better job if you hadn't sent Donald away."

Humdinger knew Duck was right and looked at the ground awkwardly. He knew he found himself stuck in a dilemma but wasn't going down without a fight. Suddenly, a sinister grin grew on his face as an idea popped in his head.

"Well, I'm sorry to hear that, Duck, but I don't think I can make any changes."

"Oh, yes, you can!" Duck objected.

"No, I cannot." Humdinger replied firmly.

"Why not?"

"Because the rules are the rules. I sent Donald to the scrapyards to stop the bickering between him and Douglas and I don't plan to change that."

"Of course, you don't." Duck muttered.

"Watch the tone, Ducky, or else I'll tell you Oliver's deepest secret."

Duck was caught off guard. "And what's that?"

"Oh, you know," The mayor said, walking up to the green pannier tank engine and resting his elbow on his running board and looking at his hand for a contumelious look, "He said something about having feelings for you."

Duck shared a confused expression. "What?"

"I'm sorry, didn't you hear? He's in love with you!" Humdinger told him, letting off his running board and standing in front of him.

Duck didn't know what to say as he stared at the mayor. He wouldn't believe that Oliver would like him like that. Sure, they'd been best friends for years now, but could it be true? Was his best friend really in love with him? The green pannier tank engine was thunderstruck as he stared down at his buffers. Mayor Humdinger could see his idea was working and smiled balefully.

"Is he really in love with me?" Was all Duck could say.

"Maybe, maybe not." The mayor responded casually, grabbing a hold of his suit and looking at the ground.

Duck was still at a loss for words but soon returned to his scornful attitude and grew red in the face.

"Looks like Oliver was right: You really ARE a scoundrel."

"Don't you mean your secret admirer?" Humdinger smirked snidely.

Duck had heard enough. "Shut your gob and stay away from us Great Westerns!"

And with that, the guard waved the green flag and Duck fumed away in a hurry. Mayor Humdinger felt pleased with himself as he watched the green pannier tank engine leave with its train.

"Oh don't worry! I'll make sure your passengers get a refund if you don't make it on time!" Mayor Humdinger mocked as he chortled to himself and twirled his mustache before getting back on his purple kitty carrier and driving away.
