Maggies Diner

After about twenty five minutes and lots of singing and laughing we pulled into the parking lot of Maggies. It looks like your basic seventies diner, from the outside anyways. We park and start the head inside Jack and Lana pulling into the parking lot right as we reach the door.  Jack runs up to the door before we could go inside “You could have just waited for us instead of speeding here” Jack says panting out of breath. Lacey and Kilyian laugh while walking inside without responding to him, the rest of us following them in. 

The inside matches the outside of this diner so much it looks like the diners you would see in old time movies. Kilyian grabs my hand leading me to a table with the rest. “You're gonna love the food here Addie they have some of the best burgers in town” Jack says smiling. Too bad I can't eat red meat. I know what you're thinking, a werewolf who can't eat meat right? Yeah I hate it but I can't help that my body hates it. 

I frown a little thinking about how I'll never be able to eat what he's saying is one of the best foods here. I turn to Kilyian with a frown on my face “what's wrong love, have something against burgers” Kilyian asks with a giggle. I shack my head no and make a pucking motion to try to explain. “Oof that's rough i couldn't imagine not being able to eat burgers” he says. I shake my head, yeah looking at the menu in front of me.

“I know what she can have, one of their famous shakes” Lacey says with a big smile. I smile at that shaking my head yes!  I love milkshakes i'm definitely trying that. I read through the menu which is mostly burgers till I find chicken strips that look yummy. I point to it looking at Kilyian “good pick love there chicken strips are good, everything here is pretty good actually” he says.

A waitress makes her way to our table to take our order, everyone orders and Kilyian orders for the both of us. They all make small talk while we wait for our food to get to us. After about fifteen minutes our food started to arrive, everyone got burgers but Lacey and I got chicken strips and fries. We both got the same thing after i picked them she said it was the best thing on the menu in her opinion. 

We all started eating, these are really good, I'm surprised it might be better than pancakes. I take a drink out of the chocolate milk shake and my face lights up, oh my goddess that's heavenly. “I told you they were good” Lacey says smiling at me. I shake my head drinking some more before returning to my food. “I'm glad you like the food we will have to come here again sometime love” Kilyian says stealing a few of my fries.

They all start talking about pack stuff while we finish eating, I listened to the conversation before zoning out a little. ‘These chicken strips are delicious’ Zephinas voice pops in my head. ‘It's been almost three weeks and that was the first thing you said to me.’ I say stilling up in my seat, I can't believe she's back. Last time I lost her I didn't hear from her again for almost two years. 

I'm snapped out of my thoughts by Kilyians voice “are you okay love you look a bit startled” he asks worriedly. Oh great, how do I explain this one, I point to my head. “Do you have a headache? I can get you some pain medication" He says. I shake my head no i knew this would be hard “Zeph can you contact his wolf yet since we're mates i know we cant mind link yet so you're our best bet’ i ask hopefully. “I can try but I'm not sure’ she responds determinedly.

“Are you talking to Zander?” Kilyian asks confused. I shake my head no, now I know his wolf's name ‘it's me talking to zander, i can communicate with him i'll explain and he can tell Kilyian hopefully’ she explains. Thank god this is easier than basically a game of charades. “Oh!? Zephina? What a pretty name for a wolf” he says thinking out loud. Everyone looks at us confused “Her wolf is communicating with a mind link, this makes things a little easier for now” he explains to the other. 

“I understand now though I'm sorry she was gone so long, the mating pull must have helped her get back.” he says after Zeph explains. I shrug my shoulders; it could have been worse. After a few more minutes everyones done and ready to leave. “Where to next guys?” Lilith asks the group. “We could hang out at one of the houses” Jack says. “Which house though ours is a mess thanks to you” Lana says making Jack frown. 

“We could go to our new place and watch movies and play games, break in the house a little bit” Kilyian says. That sounds like fun, I know I'll be cleaning up after this tomorrow but oh well. Everyone agrees and we head off to our place, listening to loud music like before. “Homes about 30 minutes from here love you can use my phone to entertain yourself if you want. He says handing me his phone. This is gonna be a nice car ride, games, music, and the air conditioner on full blast.
