Chapter 22

It was ten minutes later, "The prom king winner is..." The announcer said, "Please be Jared Joy's date, please be Jared!" I said to myself, "...JARED VOLTEVIN!" The announcer said, "Yes!" I said as the principle and volunteers were putting a prince crown and a sash that says, "Prom King" on Jared, "Now his prom queen, is..." I the announcer said with a long pause, "I know that Joy can win this!" I thought to myself, "...JOY BURRIS!" The announcer said, "YES!" Me and Alex both said at the same time, we looked at each other in the eyes and Alex gently leaned in and kissed me while the principle and volunteers were putting on Joy's princess crown and a sash that says, "Prom Queen" on her, then Joy and Jared came down from the stage and walked to us, "Hey! Congratulations to you guys!" I said to Joy and Jared, "Thanks!" Joy said back while Jared went to go get some drinks for him and Joy, after we danced for a little while more then once prom had ended Alex took me home. I woke up literally rushing my mom to take me to the hospital and get my cast off, finally she was ready and took me, I fell asleep in the car the whole way there, I was so excited that I was going to be able to ride Starstruk. "Hello!" Said the lady at the front desk, "Hi, we are hear for an appointment to get her cast taken off." My mom said to the lady, then the lady showed us to a room and told us to take a seat while we are waiting for the doctor, the doctor came in shortly and greeted us, he wasn't Dr. Dallington, his name was Dr. Frazltion, he told me he would have to take my cast off with a saw, it felt weird at first but then after about an hour or so I got use to it. Fair is coming up and I can't practice, I have to let my leg rest for about a week, I HATE IT! At least I can put pressure on my leg and walk on it, I was feeding all of the animals, then I went into the new barn we got and went into Starstruk's stall, "It's okay Starstruk, I will be able to ride you soon, it wasn't your fault." I said to Starstruk feeling funny talking to a horse, "I know. Hey." Alex said unexpectedly, "Hi... how did you get hear?" I asked him, "I drove over, and I knocked on the door thinking you were going to answer it, but you mom did so I asked if you were here, and then she told me that you were outside, so I just came out side to see you, and I know I should of called first but I wanted to surprise you." Alex said, "It's okay, and what surprise?" I asked feeling confused, "This..." Alex said while handing me a box with little holes in it,"Wow! Oh my gosh, YOU GOT ME A PUPPY!" I said very loudly, "Yes, that's why there is holes in the box, for him to breath." Alex said while I was examining the puppy, it was a male Australian Sheppard puppy, with brown eyes, with a kind of grey, black, light brown, and white fur, with a little speckled nose.
