Chapter 1-Coincidental Meetings

🦋 RAIN'S POV🦋

"Shiya! I'm late!"

I spring out of bed the moment I feel the warm sun rays hit my face waking me up from my sweet slumber.Why didn't the alarm go off, today of all days?I take a quick shower then rush back to my bedroom.I  throwing my uniforms on and grab my bag making my way through the door with my project at hand.The project I am suppose to present at 8:00am and it is already 7:45am.It would take another 30 minutes drive through the traffic to get to school.I am totally screwed!I drive through the busy road hoping to get there on time.

"I can't afford to be late!"I shout honking at the long lane of cars infront of me.I am about to face the wrath of  my project partner Sky,who also happens to be my best friend.Sky can be quite The Hulk whenever he gets angry and no one wants a taste of his his green flames especially me.

"Sky's going to kill me,"I mutter under my breath gazing at the long traffic ahead.

We've been doing this project together for two months now and today was the last day of presentation.If we miss out today,we won't be able to move on to the next class and our professor Mr.Rankasipesom is so strict or even worse,the man is heartless and mean.Meaner than all the Karen's I've ever met.He takes no excuses when it comes to his work,absolutely none.

I park my car swiftly and hurried towards the classroom ready for Sky's lecture.I check my watch hoping that I am not late.

"Ouch!"I exclaim the moment my head bumps into a rock like surface.

"Look where you going boy."I hear a deep voice saying.

"Sorry,"I apologize for bumping into him as I carelessly squat to pick up my book that are now scattered all over the floor.I see his long,veiny hands stretch out,picking up the last book then handing it to me.I look up to him trying to mumble a thank you that is quickly replaced by some inaudible sounds the moment my eyes mets his dragon,hazel eyes that are shimmering like stars, his jaw line is sharp,a chiseled one.I shamelessly continue down to his lips,they are plumpy pink__no they are red cherry.

Damn how can someone be so beautiful,hot,sexy and handsome at the same time.I go back to his eyes and he is staring at me in a way that I can't describe.I don't know if I love or hate that look.

"Shiya!! Rain you're late for class!"I smack my head lightly and speed off from the awkward scene.

"There he is! After 142 days"I hear Sky's sarcastic voice echo from someone behind the classroom.I look around for his figure then finds him seated next to Roman,the new transfer student.

"What is he doing there?His desk is at the front row,"I whisper glancing at his direction.

He gets up swiftly then makes big strides towards me with a frown look on his face.He takes our project that was in my hands.

"Rain,We were suppose to present at 8am and what's the time now?"He lifts his wrist up to read his watch,"It's 8:30!Mr.Rankasipesom will never accept our project!I have to repeat this class because of you! How could you do this to me Rain?All the late nights?For once in your life I needed you to be responsible but I guess somethings never change."He says bitterly rubbing his forefinger and thumb on the project.He lifts his head up and I see what I've always feared the most when it comes to him.His eyes,they are watery.He is going to cry!Rain what have you done!

We worked hard to finish this project and I just blew it all away in a second.Why can't I be more responsible?Now my bright and smart best friend has been dragged one year behind because of me.

"Sky I'm so sorry..I.."Before I could end my statement he burst into laughter, bringing  a fist to his mouth.

"Omg!I couldn't hold it in any longer."He says amidst his uncontrollable laughter making every eye turn to our direction"I wish you could have seen your face.You were so hilarious!"He says collecting himself then clears his throat"I am just messing with you.I requested for us to represent at 9 as soon as I saw that you weren't here by 7:30.I got you sleepyhead."He says patting my head softly.
